That wasn't so obvious from last years League performance.It's obvious, judging from the EL matches, that Ange is able to coach a team that can win mid and low table clubs.
But, that wasn't his aim. He wanted to build a team in such a way that the final product could be able to compete for the top. That's why he insisted on his ideas even with players that were underqualified (at the time, at least). He wanted to build a team character.
You don't win big things by losing at home to Ipswich and Leicester.
It would be nice if we all stopped pretending that Ange being unable to muster a win against anyone but Southampton for the final third of his domestic time here was part of some masterplan to be the greatest side ever.
