All the previous managers Ange is being compared to had Kane, Son in his prime and Conte had a Ballon d'Or like Kulusevski.

I get that it's just my opinion, and I'm perfectly acceptable of you having your own. However, any manager that lost the best player the club has ever seen on the dawn of the new season, had to implement a whole new style on to a team and deal with a injury crisis after 10 games (granted they were fit again from Feb time).

Last season I consider a big step. 5th was an improvement on the year before, and we saw the team playing football we wanted them to. Ange isn't going to be for everyone, but is a 7th manager in 6 years really the answer? What if that manager isn't to your fancy either? We're becoming like Watford!
The issue is 100% Levy and the board.

Maybe I won't like the next manager. Or the one after. I'll probably like them for a bit lol whilst the results are going well.

This guy has had us playing some phenomenal stuff. Until the wheels fell off. And he hasn't quite been able to get them back on. When it works it's brilliant. It hasn't successfully worked though, and we finished 5th because of that amazing start. The trend of results we are in are indicative of the norm, not those first ten games.

Something has gone wrong since the Chelsea game. How long do you give him to get it back to that?

If we lose 3 or 4 of the next run of games - to those vying for a similar place in the table - we will be even further away. Do we still persevere? He's one dimensional. By his own admission and by what we see. He won't change, which means this won't change. We will dominate the ball, be ineffective and probably smash teams that will go down or struggle, as is the current pattern, or beat teams silly enough to leave space behind, as Villa and Newcastle do.

You have to have a plan B, even Liverpool and City sometimes just lump it long. Ange won't even do that. Admirable. But flawed. Which is essentially how I'd sum him up.

I'd love for this to work, but we need Nico Williams, Pedro Neto, a Gallagher, a Kane. Even a Sterling. We don't even shirk on transfer fees now, but we are tight on wages, so instead we get "cheaper" options. You get what you pay for.

Let's not kid ourselves, anyone with that record deserves a good fucking slap, never mind the sack.

Different week and it feels like it reminds me of a different manager. I have to say at the moment it all feels a bit AVB, possession no real cutting edge but this time no Bale to spank one in from 30 yards. I remember after one shit game after we'd been booed off he was getting tetchy with an interviewer arguing that we'd been good and starting reeling off possession and other stats like the fans just couldnt compute what a genuis he was.

He lost me when we needed an 80 something minute penalty to beat Hull at home.
We were dismal.
He blamed the fans for being too quiet.
The football was so boring everyone fell asleep.

Lol at 2 people thinking he needs another transfer window . 😆

I bet I know who else is laughing :levylol:
Why? What are you expecting in January? Why would Levy be laughing that Ange needs another transfer window. I doubt that there will be much transfer activity of top players to any team in January. The January window is only for replacing say an injured player. The real activity happens in the summer.
Levy has never been slow to dismiss Managers and I cannot see he would be laughing that he would not need to sack Ange until after January.

Yeah pretty sure that was the game he was gaslighting everyone with the stats afterwards. Only time i can ever remember us being booed off after a win.
The only good thing about that game was that Hull spent the whole match time wasting.
When we scored, the ball went out for a goal kick shortly after. Their keeper, the worst time wasting offender by far, was screaming at the fans to give him the ball back. They didn't. It never came back. Think someone had to go and get a new one as they didn't even have extras around the pitch then!

You spend 85 minutes taking your time to take a goal kick, kicking mud out of your boots, pulling your socks up, checking your phone for messages, asking the mrs what she's doing for dinner. Then all of a sudden you're jumping up and down in a rage because you're in a rush.
Hilarious.

Show some stones and commit. Woolwich did a few years back when Arteta started 0-3 and EVERYONE expected him to get fired. There is literally no point in changing managers. Who is going to have a better chance in our club? We already tried the big name serial winner. Atleast Ange will play youth and play front foot. That’s all anyone wanted in the doldrums of Conte ball. That’s our best chance of success. But news flash, it takes time to get right. As in probably multiple years. Our defense has looked significantly better last two games. I think we’ll eventually put it together. No manager is perfect but I continue to think Ange is a good fit for us.

At least it's only 2.
There's (currently) 74 people that will give him the entire season.
There's no caveat to that answer. So they're basically saying whether we're bottom of the league 8 points from safety with half a season to go, they'd stick with him.
Based purely on the wording of that answer - absolutely no one should have selected it.

You ask why?
He's just been dealt one of the shittest transfer windows imaginable comprising England's 5th choice striker as a belated replacement for England's 1st choice striker, the useless bum who nobody else wants on loan, and a few teenagers who may or may not make an impact in a future that never arrives.

All while slashing the wage bill to mid table levels of ambition
And he says he's happy....:levywtf:

At what point do you realise that a coach who has 28 years experience vs one who was in his first job is not comparable?
At what point do you concede that our results are getting worse, and our points haul over a set period keeps decreasing, and is actually putting us in danger of a lower bottom half finish?
At what point do you realise hanging on to a useless coach who is likely to see us finish with no european football next season, despite having hundreds of millions spent on him is a terrible football and business decision?

Fans need to shed this cliche nonsense that time is enough.
If his name was Steve Bruce would you advocate for time?
If his name was Tony Pullis would you advocate for time?
If his name was David Moyes etc. You get the point.

Anything but a win Vs Brentford keeps his rolling PPG at relegation levels.
You wanna stick with that?

Some dates to consider for the gamblers out there.

21st Sept - Hoddle.
5th Nov - Santini
25th Oct (HT) - Jol
25th Oct - Ramos
16th Dec - AVB (interesting stat here - sacked after MW 16 and we'd won 8 of those)
19th Nov - Poch (by comparison, only won 3 of 12)

Redknapp, Mourinho and Conte are the only ones to make it past December. Redknapp of course was at the end of the season. Conte was almost entirely as a result of 1 press conference embarrassing thick skinned Levy, Mourinho was likely due a bonus if he won a cup or something.

Levy pulls the trigger between late Sept and mid December, with a preference for late Oct to mid Nov typically.

At what point? Another full season. People forget we made a complete 180 from how we were playing, recruitment, etc from Conte to Ange. Everyone knew that was going to take time and change beforehand. We finished 5th last year. The eye test, underlying stats, etc matter when you are making a major decision. Especially considering the coaching treadmill we have been on since Poch. “Likely to” doesn’t matter at this point. It’s a long season and we are in multiple competitions. We’ve spent some money, but outside of Maddison and Solanke they’ve pretty much all been young players. Every successful team sticks to a manager and style and goes through the growing pains. Given our inability to spend huge, I think our ability to have a cycle might take longer than most. I for one, don’t want to press reset on this and have seen enough to think Ange has as good a chance as any coach we could get to lead us to a good period.

A lot of hope in that poll.

He's not going to change anything and he isn't going to last the season (out before Jan window).

He's a stubborn, cocky fool with an unduly inflated ego.

If he decides to grow up and act like a mature manager in an elite league and turns it around, then build him a statue, because this type of personality is so set and intransigent it will take a gargantuan effort for him to overcome himself and that would deserve be celebrated.
