I wonder if one of the advantages of having Kinsky in the squad as an alternative to Vicario is it allows Spurs to send Brandon Austin out on loan to gain experience - his last loan was to MLS in 2021 and he's only played a total of about 20 games in a professional league.

A good loan might allow him to double the number of professional games even in 2nd half of this season and it then makes his role as a 2nd or 3rd CT GK more credible.

We have a few decent u21 players out of the academy who are 'List B' for uefa squads (ie extra to usual EL squads) who might well become CT in time - Will Lankshear, Mikey Moore and those on loan including Alfie Devine, Jamie Donley, George Abbott et al.so Austin's CT status starts to become less crucial.

Worth remembering as well 21 year old Josh Keeley who is having a great season at L1 Leyton Orient, - probably needs another season (or even two) at a higher level club in order to compete for the no 2 position at Spurs, but unfortunately he joined Spurs too late to ever be CT, but he's currently by far the best youth GK. Kinsky joining Spurs allows Keeley to go out on loan.
We’ve signed him because he was available for a good price, could become number 1, and is better than Forster now.

Yes, but literally no other club does this "competition" thing that people talk about

If this fella is coming in to REPLACE Vic then thats a completely different situation
I would say he has 2 months to prove himself. If he settles well and plays well, I can’t see him being dropped.

I like Vicario, but let’s be honest, there is serious weaknesses to his game, both at crosses and with his feet, and this kid on paper appears a much better fit for how we are trying to play.

But on the flip side If he bombs badly, at least Vicario is a solid option to just slot back in and steady the ship.

Yeah it makes sense. He will be a gamble in the short term as the physicality of the prem and what referees allow at set pieces in the UK, will be a massive wake up call. But long term, he has great potential and will keep Vicario on his toes. I'm just not sure if he'll have the impact we hope in the next 2 months while Vicario is still out.

Well I’m glad you didn’t contradict yourself there 🤣

Austin is 25 years old. It is surely now too late to be talking about development loans for him.

Yeah absolutely. There’s no doubt in my mind that Vicario can be upgraded upon, especially if this Kinsky kid can truly command the area. Vic is also older than we realize, 28 already. Not saying that’s too old, especially for a GK, but it’s not like he’s a long term solution for the next decade either.

That's Richarlison ditched from the EL squad then (or Odoberg if he still looks fucked in a couple of weeks).

Swap Forster for Spence now too.

Surely got to be moving on Fraser and Alfie now?

I’d keep Brandon on today’s showing.
How many times does this need to be said? They both signed contracts to essentially be the training squad goalkeepers. With our lack of club-trained players it means we always have a place for them in the squads, and it gives the coaches more flexibility to play smaller sided training matches.

Seems that his father (also Antonin Kinsky) was a keeper with a record of over 100 league clean sheets and a handful of caps for Czech Republic

Just watched a highlight video. Lots of dribbling out of his box. Plenty of 60 yard passes pinged straight to the run of an attacker. Lots of flying saves.

Not one single catch.
