No I conclude Romero isn't. He has been rating lower than Dier or is not our highest rated CB in games.

What has Japh got to do with any of this then......?

You began suggesting that a shift would see Japh prove to be the prevalent player.

(....And just in case you jump to such a conclusion; I'm not some entrenched Romero super-fan. I've openly critiqued him this season, but the broader narrative you began dabbling with is/was wacky to put it mildly.)

I've said my piece, now let's observe. You can participate by rating and be part of the measuring of performance. Maybe help us see the good and bad. With Spursplay its a lot easier now, especially with the rewind function.

Ratings are not quite as random as you may think. Newspapers, websites both Spurs and neutral, forum posters all tend to be fairly balanced and regular. Sometimes I include more papers if I can get hold of them via the net.

You've literally just described random.... It's a mish-mash of whatever you're able to cobble together from week to week. Even the notion of "neutral" and unbiased is highly dubious.

I'm not knocking it if that's how you want to spend your time; but you referencing it as some credible source of player performance data is folly..... It's a curiosity at best.

Yeah that's if he's not breaking Covid rules, late back from international duty, injured or suspended.
I want him to be more professional in his behaviour too by not pulling opponents to the ground by their hair in the penalty box or laughing in the faces of opposition CBs when we score.

That other guy tho:

It can only become more credible with input from knowledgeable contributors like yourself. When there are glaring differences between ratings it asks questions....who's right and why ? Have the majority missed something ?

Questions that will never be answered by a compiled average; for that is all that this amounts to.

I'm trying awfully hard not to offend you, but you seem to have a misguidedly grandiose impression about your spreadsheet.

He was the first Argentina player back from the WC.

You obviously have an agenda, not worth continuing this debate.

Japhet did not play enough games to feature in the mid season ratings review. But neither did Romero having played 10 games out of 22. I cut off at 11 . Romero averaged 6.20 across his 10 games which is down from 6.58 for last season.
In comparison Hojbjerg averaged 6.60 over 20 games which is commendable.

I thought you said you had 3 years worth?

Curious because Japh made he EPL debut 3 years ago.

Swear that's what this is all about... or some overly elaborate trolling.

Always liked the saying “we can never truly know the world around us, all we have is our interpretation of it”.

To see what’s truly there requires viewing without Ego, impossible for most of us, most of the time.

Comparing ones ratings to others and the reasons why at least gives some reassurance ones thinking is on the right track. Its when your ratings are way off others it asks questions.

I promise I will be impartial. I rate what I see.
