Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think we could easily let him go before the end of the season and stick Mason back as caretaker. IMO that's what's most likely to happen if this run of form carries on.

We could easily have lost 0-5 to Leicester, a few more nights like that and Levy will wield the axe.
It's not even the form that bothers me, it's playing players who are playing dreadful when there are other options on the bench.
Even when we win, it bothers me that we are often carrying players through those games and we don't have to.

Alarming for me bought bissouma for 35m last year who was outstanding. Then conte said earlier in season tactically not right for team. Why buy him then or did we base it on his performance against us before end of last season?

Putting anyone in charge who would have any new ideas.
And I literally mean anyone.

Including Ryan Mason.

At least I would watch games with any kind of interest. Cause it would be intriguing what I will see in the game.

Now under that boring idealess leech I know perfectly well - I can predict starting lineup; tactic and worst of all - our total apathy across the field.

One game he was not sucking life out of us, we all witnessed passionate, energetic and aggressive performance. I want more of this.
And l want less of getting humiliated by relegation fodder teams. Maybe you are next level masochist (cause on some level, all of us Spurs fans are) and want to suffer. I'd like to get something positive. Conte sure as hell cannot provide it.
So you do think blaming the manager will fix Spurs problems.

I bet he still managed to negotiate an exit.
No. He voluntarily walked away from Inter and Juve for different reasons. With Juve, he had a big fight (allegedly) with Agnelli, while at Inter he walked away because he didn't want the team that he built to get dismantled by sales (Lukaku, Hakimi were sold, while others were on the verge). He didn't get shit in either case. Not even his loyalty bonus. He got A LOT from Chelsea though...

He hasn't adapted to Conte yet. When he came, he got Covid during pre-season, and he had to catch-up all the time. Not Conte's fault, not Bissouma's fault, just very bad circumstances.

No, please read what I wrote, do not fill the gaps and think ahead from there yourself.

I have mentioned more than 1 time in past 5 pages of this thread - more has to change and long term plan is needed.

But manager will have to be the 1st thing cause he is by far the weakest link - under his guidance we are playing bad football, getting poor results and alienating young promising players. He is doing even shittier job than Levy. Though there is paradox here - him not being sacked is Levy's fault. So maybe they should be drawn? But getting rid of Levy is more difficult than sacking the cancer that is stealing living while pretending to manage the team.

Same Cancer that worked a pure miracle to get us into the champions league less than a year ago?

conte has never ever been a long term manager. 2 seasons and quit/resigned on every job except 3 with juve.

It is possible he’s never learned how to think long term because he hasn’t had to. Or doesn’t want to or plan to be somewhere long term.

He plays only his top XI players week in week out and rotates only when forced. He doesn’t give young players equal chance. He relies on his veterans until the end even when they’ve clearly fallen off.

You can get away with this short term. But it catches up in the long term. He’s never had to deal with any long term consequence as he’s been out the door.

Totally agreed.
And I would add - this 3 year stint came in a club where he spent majority of his playing days.
So even such strong emotional connection did not keep him more than 3 years.

Nothing is ever contes fault. Hes bulletproof. Losing 2 nil at home to Aston villa wasnt contes fault. Buying richarlison wasnt contes fault. Not having a creative midfielder is contes fault. Neglecting the academy is not contes fault.

And how is that going? Who has he improved or coached?
That wasn’t the point I was replying to.
The op said “we need a project manager” (whatever the fuck that means) to rebuild the team.

I wasn’t arguing for or against Conte, just saying that in a DOF system it’s Paratici and the club doing the rebuild. The benefit of that being we don’t (in theory) go back to square 1 if a coach doesn’t work out and a new one comes in.

Great example to look at is Brighton. De Zerbi didn’t come in and do a rebuild or request new players, he came in and coached the team that the club has built.
