Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Porro sold for 8.5m this summer.

You are correct: the quote regarding Conté thinking that Porro will transform Spurs came via journalist Dean Jones.
Porro joined Sporting in 2020. It was probably a loan to buy deal so the 8.5 was the price agreed at the start of the loan, not the price City would have charged after he was successful there.

Either way, he wasn't an 8.5m player this summer.

What is bile and what does it do?

:contethumb:

Had a look on Google (at least I admit it)

Bile is a digestive fluid produced by the liver and stored in the gallbladder.

The bile has five main functions:
  • Aids in the digestion of fat via fat emulsification.
  • Absorption of fat and fat-soluble vitamins.
  • Excretion of bilirubin and excess cholesterol.
  • Provides an alkaline fluid in the duodenum to neutralize the acidic pH of the chyme that comes from the stomach.
The bile ducts carry bile from your liver to your small intestine. When bile ducts become damaged, bile can back up into the liver, causing damage to liver cells. This damage can lead to liver failure.29 Sept 2021

Regardless, that was the sale price.
City declined a buy back at around 17m.

1. That's because he is a wing-back. He played in a back 4 defensively at Sporting because the manager's system had flexibility between formations.

2. If Poch is really a top-class coach, he will be able to have the flexibility in his system to have adaptable formations.

3. Pep is currently playing a system with 3 atb. Every high-quality manager has the ability to adapt their system to match up against and use the benefits of most formations. There are teams all over Europe having success with defensive wingers or attacking wing backs.

4. See above for Pep but also watch Brighton or go back and watch Tuchel.
Is conte a high-quality manager? I don’t see much flexibility from him. Do top class coaches consistently switch to 3atb? Ten Hag? Ancelotti? Klopp? The number of managers who play 3atb is not that great.

Maybe someone could get Porro playing as a defensive winger, as you say, but there’s an opportunity cost to buying a specialist wing back. We could have bought players able to play in many different formations like a centreback or creative midfielder.

Spleen

Your spleen:
  • Stores blood.
  • Filters blood by removing cellular waste and getting rid of old or damaged blood cells.
  • Makes white blood cells and antibodies that help you fight infection.
  • Maintains the levels of fluid in your body.
  • Produces antibodies that protect you against infection.

Like tea when you dip a chocolate digestive into a cup of it???

That used to be one of my chat up methods

Buy some biscuits like rich tea
Find some girls having coffee
Approach with a mate and dunk our biscuits in their coffee

Surprisingly we had a very low success rate and the stains in our trousers were difficult to remove!!

Agree. I just don't really see the point since it all seems rather obvious Conte will not be re-signing with the club. A new CB could have been a revelation in this team but for the amount of money we spent on Porro it isn't even a guarantee that he is the answer to our RWB position. Plus the Spence money. 60m spent so poorly in the context of the coach and their contract situation.

It’s impressive how wrong that article is.

“he was on City’s books between 2019 and 2022”

He was not on City’s books in 2022.

Article also said that Sporting initially said he was available for 25m….
From even before the window opened the Sporting coach gave quotes that he could only leave for the buyout clause.

The negotiations were a mess but that’s just some made up shit the writer has put in his story to justify the clickbait title.

Ten Hag is suddenly a higher quality coach than Conte?

Maybe not so much flexibility from him atm but 3-4-3 isn’t Conte’s usual formation.

Klopp plays 4atb but Porro and Trent are very similar. Trent hardly crosses the halfway line. The CMs in Klopps system do all the hard work.

Be honest, you’ve picked a position and opinion on a player before they have signed, because you think a manager is leaving and then confirmed that opinion in your head after one game BUT really you haven’t thought that opinion through very well?

Maddison would have cost around 70-80m but you know hes worth it. What has richy done to justify a 60m price tag?
Telling richo is dud and will bigger than tanguy who actually scored a few goals some spectacular, he could keep the ball, beat a man and generally do things which richo will never do. Unfortunately he was lazy. However Maddison was who we should got in the summer this allowing play two up top rather than 3. And not have rely on bloody creativity from royal!

We could play Kulusevski as an AMF if Conte was going to use one.
