Little conspiracy theory I came up with.

We went to Conte in June. He didn't believe we'd keep Kane. Couldn't promise we could and he wouldn't join unless he knew he'd still be here.
Couldn't risk getting to the end of the transfer window and still have no coach as it would have been a complete disaster so got any old gimp to fill the void. There was potentially always a plan to go back for Conte at some point hence why things seem to have moved quickly and with no animosity now

150mill, yeah right. Someone has sneakily added a nought there and think they can get away with it :levyeyes:.....no way are we spending 150 mill in one window, it might be the total budget for January AND the summer 2022

Im guessing that Conte has discussed potential targets with Paratici and is happy with who we might be able to bring in. 150 million is Ndombele, LoCelso and Sanchez money. That shows us all that it's not how much you spend but who you spend it on.

No I think the massive difference is that his mate Paratici has been at the club for 6 months and is able to give Conte full reassurance about how Levy and the club operate and what the plans are for the future. This kind of inside knowledge is hugely important and I think has made the difference.
 
My main hope is while it will be a short enough stint he will leave us in much better position and make us an attractive option for a proven guy to takeover with a good team that won't take too much tweaking .

There was always rumours in June that Paratici was someone Conte wanted at the club.

Interesting as he was at Juve longer than Chelsea and Inter and the average spend at Juve was less than both.

The club needs a change of mindset and has for a long time.
I really hoped that, for all his personality issues, Mourinho would bring that but he was a wet muted blanket. I reckon Levy completely censored him, at least in the early days

Fuck Jose. He spent a fortune at Man Utd and they were still not good enough, I have no faith that he would have got Spurs to the top if he had been given everything he wanted. He took the Spurs job and gave it "I'm happy with the squad" because he wanted the chance to prove his relevance again.

Levy tried this shit in the summer with Conte and Conte told him to fuck off, because he isn't desperate for the job like Jose was at the time we got him.

Plays "exactly the same football" - that's just not true is it, look at Jose at Utd and us and look at Conte at Inter and Chelsea and try to tell me the football is exactly the same.

Drinkwater: 35M

Kante: 32M

Giroud: 15M
Barkley: 15M

Apart from Kante and Alonso, the rest were flops.
