So in short we concede shots but not from good positions.

And a goalkeeper who is stopping the ones that get through.
It's just too early. But I hope with every fiber of my being you are correct. Many moona ago I said Conte was our best manager since Nicholson.
I was slated by many !
Anybody changed their mind now?
Conte is a WINNER because like Ferguson he demands everything from his players.
He knows who he wants and Levi has to back him every time.
The only thing I do not understand is how he kept Sanchez and let Rodon go out on loan, maybe so he can get a full season in and then come back into the team.
It’s a fair point. Most fans have an obsession with the starting 11, but the Leics game shows that finishing 11 is equal if not greater than. Our players need to accept that too, Son looked fucked off and that needs to stop. I would like to see Kane benched too to prove a point to the squad and i think Son, Richy and Kulu are still a stellar attackAnd a goalkeeper who is stopping the ones that get through.
You just know however that if we offer up even poor chances from distance against this lot, they’ll be flying in. It’s Sod’s law.
I’d rather have us stifling the midfield until they start to tire/get frustrated and then go in dry with some fresh legs to exploit them. It won’t happen off the back of a hat trick, but someone like Sonny coming on after Richy has bashed them about for an hour would please me greatly. I wouldn’t back against him getting another bag full against a tired and frustrated Woolwich
They concede shots from a distance where it will take an unreal strike to score. It’s all part of the plan. I’m just glad the team doesn’t shit it’s pants about it as much as a section of our fans. People keep moaning about the quality of the football but this is it with Conte. Towards the end of last season when we were steamrolling teams it was working perfectly. It will come again soon like that, we just need to wait. We saw a bit of it on Saturday and more of that will come. I suspect there will be a few more teams this season getting back on the coach thinking how did we concede 3/4/5 goals today with the amount of chances we had. Yet that’s the trick, the chances they had weren’t that good.
The journo asked him a very different question (broadly translated and summarised): How are you living this very significant moment of British History as an Italian living there?
At your service!
Va bene cosi': io ho dato una prima versione piu' concisa, poi tu sei andato piu' nel dettaglioAt your service!
The question came from a journalist of a political show on Ra1 (the first public channel in Italy) and it concerned the commemoration of the late queen before the match. The journo asked him how he felt in that moment since Conte looked pretty involved with the tribute, and how it feels as an Italian in London. (Pretty inane question if you ask me, but then again I don't really rate the show he works for.)
Conte replied that it was a very emotional moment that celebrated a important person who gave a lot to this country and who's known all over the world, and that when they cancelled the games he gave the players a free day and spent the afternoon to go to Buckingham palace and "breath in this strange atmosphere". He said that finding himself in London as an Italian when the queen passed is a very particular experience that he'll carry in his heart, because you can really feel great fondness, affection not only from English people but from all over the world towards a person who served the country in an extraordinary way, you can really feel the pain for the passing of the queen. He also said that when they celebrated the queen with the minute of silence and the anthem it was a very touching moment for him as well, who is not an Englishman but an Italian who is living a beautiful footballing experience in England. It's a really extraordinary moment for everyone, and you can see everyone coming to pay tribute to someone who did something incredible for 70 years.
The reporter then asked him if he had sung the anthem and Conte replied that he hadn't but that he'd listened to it and it was a very moving moment.
Edit: lol I had lunch before hitting reply and they'd beaten me to it
A sto punto possiamo mettere su una redazione :contelol:Va bene cosi': io ho dato una prima versione piu' concisa, poi tu sei andato piu' nel dettaglio![]()
Hahah, yes, good idea!A sto punto possiamo mettere su una redazione :contelol:
Comunque mi sa che con Conte è meglio riassumere perché si ripete veramente un sacco
I second that , whatever it means !!Va bene cosi': io ho dato una prima versione piu' concisa, poi tu sei andato piu' nel dettaglio![]()
lol!
Unless you have this manDefending in football is quite simple. Don’t let the opposition touch the ball in your box and they will rarely score, as so few goals come from outside the box. Conte seems to understand this.
What he said.A sto punto possiamo mettere su una redazione :contelol:
