Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

So get the fuck off this forum then, you fucking mess.
Seems FanBoy10 (not sure why he hasn't rebadged as FanBoy30, maybe he's a bit slow on the uptake) has felt the zeitgeist toward him after our sweetly executed two-pronged attack.

Only morons are questioning Conte. Don't worry about it
It's nothing to do with questioning Conte, it's more to do with questioning his suitability for this squad.
It's more his suitability to work with Levy. It's also the suitability of Paratici for this squad too.

Conte is an elite coach, no questioning that, but is he the coach we need at present and will he be the coach to take us where we need to go?

That's a bigger question. Oh and I remember when we unveiled Jose and I was unimpressed by a manager on a downward spiral who I think I said at the time was a "Chequebook manager used to working with the best and wasn't suited by a mediocre squad". Iwas massively disagreed with because he was a "winner" anda"fighter" and would "kick these wasters into shape".

Guess what....he wasn't.

Yes he is.

Anyone questioning that needs a slapping, to be frank. If Conte can't clear this mess of a squad up, nobody can. He is EXACTLY what we need (IF Levy opens the chequebook).

If Levy doesn't open the chequebook, there isn't a person on this planet who can do anything with this squad.

No debate to be had here.

I read that as him saying we have actually spent a lot, but we don't have the results to show for it. So the job is not to piss away £120m on Ndombele, Lo Celso and Sessegnon, but instead buy good players with that money and get good results on the pitch.

The gap is between the money spent (decent) and the performance on the pitch (shit).

Exactly. Our starting XI yesterday cost north of £200m and that was with 3 free academy products in the team. We are shit despite spending lots of money, not because we haven’t spent.

And straight away you've opened it up to debate "if Levy opens the chequebook".

I heard a story, from someone with Ajax, which explains why Ten Hag was turned down. If it is true, there's no reason to think Levy will change for Conte.

And I just can't imagine Conte coming if he was not guaranteed funds. It's Conte.

And like i said, if Levy doesn't open the chequebook, there isn't a suitable manager alive that could transform this squad.

So, no debate. Conte is the best of the bunch.

Conte said before the game that he needed to give playing time to all the players and make his evaluations ahead of the January market. Well now he’s seen first hand how bad the attitude is for these second string players, the same guys who let us down against Norwich in the FA Cup, Zagreb last season, against Vitesse, Pacos, LASK and now Mura.

The older players like Sanchez, Ndombele, Doherty, Dele, the die is cast for them. They do not have any potential to improve and need to find new clubs. They do not play seriously when called upon. The younger players like Sess, Tanganga, Rodon, Gil, they were all shit last night but they at least have youth on their side and a potential to improve. Conte will probably focus on them and exile the others. This time Levy has to sell those exiled players and LISTEN TO THE MANAGER instead of living in his dream world where Dele can still score 20 goals a season.

Now Conte knows that there are certain players who absolutely must be on the pitch if we want to win a match. You can make at most 2 or 3 changes before the chance of winning heads towards zero percent.
I think that last night just confirmed to Conte what he probably already knew. He’s seen it for himself and he’ll get his teeth into it now

Breaking footage from the training ground today, Levy and Paratici watching Conte take the training session:

Starting with Burnley away on Sunday, Spurs will play 10 games in 29 days before the end of the year.
With so many games coming so quickly, Conte will probably find it difficult to try and get his ideas across on the training ground. Plus, we're bound to pick up more injuries and maybe suspensions, so most of the squad will probably get a game.
But, it should be both a challenging and exciting time for Conte and the players involved.
As a fan I feel like I'm about to start a roller-coaster ride.

Conte said after the game that while we have issues physically and tactically it's the mentality that is our biggest issue. That is what he has to address before anything else. Every game is important. Every time you put on our shirt you have to be ready to die for the result. Anyone who isn't able to do that will have their Tottenham career ended during the next window. That has to be the standard and I'm sure it's what Conte will aim for.

Any team can win, draw or lose to anybody. It can happen. Sometimes it's only natural that players underestimate opponents, like when Real Madrid lost to Sheriff. But that's Real Madrid. Perhaps they are entitled to be a bit arrogant once in a blue moon. Our players have won nothing and embarrassed themselves every time a trophy has been within reach. Just this season alone they have repeatedly embarrassed themselves on Thursdays away from home against teams I've never heard of. They should know by now that they have no right to feel superior to anybody. Players like Dele and Ndombele would not have been able to get in the Mura XI that played last night. If they are too thick or too disinterested to reflect on that they need to be banished.

Jose getting this Spurs team to a Caraboa cup final and also having them at 1st/2nd till January last season is one of the best achievements of his career. This team is beyond finished.
We were 7th in January. And that’s only due to the season starting late… by match day 13 we were on our way down the table from 1st to 7th.

It was no accomplishment at all, just a bit of a good luck with a motivated Kane.

Go join the rest of the mourinistas on the Roma board.
