Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Levy will be desperate for Conte to sign an extension this summer. Same with Kane.

Those two need to play serious hard ball and flat out refuse to sign anything without guarantees of serious investment in the club this summer. £200m.

We CAN afford that. Time for Joe Lewis to actually fucking do something instead of rotting on that yacht in his pants watching Bargain Hunt and Homes Under The Hammer repeats.

We can actually kick on this summer and compete for the title next season with the right investment. Surely Levy isn’t this much of a penis that he’ll fuck this up. With Kane and Son rapidly approaching 30, this might be our last genuine chance for a long time.

I think we should first establish a stable CL contender, and build the team to challenge. I don't see it happen in the next 2-3 years time. Even if we are so call challenge them. I don't see US challenge them in that time frame.

Let's be realistically.
We were dead wood before Conte, but he ain't enough, even with new signing to close the gap.

We were 6th in 19-20, 40 points behind the 1st place
We were 7th in 20-21
We would have probably end up the same if Conte didn't come on fire.
People were crying that all of our players are dolg****, that Kane is as good as finish, and that we basically need a whole new squad.

And now some people think we can challenge a colossus like City or Liverpool with 2-3 good signing, when we have CL, and still super thin squad. Sorry but this is just a pure illusion.
And when we failed to do so, they will lay on to the manager and blame him for it.

What i'm saying is the gap is too big. We can't narrow that gap in 1 or 2 windows. We are also not City, Real, Barca or PSG, the top players aren't fighting to coming for us, and we also can't give huge transfer fees and huge salaries.
Going that route maybe some team can narrow the gap to City and Pool, but we don't have that, so to expect to challenge or to be close to them it's totally unrealistic.
We beat City home and away and kept Liverpool to 2 draws - yep we certainly can't match those 2 colossi

I’m expecting Liverpool to fall away (slightly). Still comfortably second but there tends to be a cycle with Klopp sides and that asthma is going to have to kick in at some point.
I am kind of expecting Salah to leave at this point, and I think they’re going to dip a bit when he goes. He’s a brilliant, top class player.

I know Diaz looks good, but Firminio is basically gone at this point. Jota pops up with goals but isn’t much of a creator.

Their midfield is aging too.

I don’t expect any setbacks for city, but I can see Liverpool dropping off to a catchable level. It has to happen at some point.

That isnt really true though is it. The only reason we got top 4 was because Woolwich bottled it even more than Spurs bottling it.. We put it in Woolwich's hands and had they beaten Newcastle there would be a very different atmosphere on the forum right now

Conte is a quality coach but we absolutely ballsed it up against brighton and brentford. Had we won those games we wouldnt have had to rely on a newcastle mastershow.

We thoroughly deserved top 4 if you look at what we did as soon as we hired Conte. We had some dodgy results for sure (as do nearly all top 4 chasing teams) but consistently since he took charge we've been one of the teams with the best form.

I don’t think we’ll necessarily catch them.

I hate the Dippers as much as the next man, but their recruitment has been exceptional. Every single signing seems to slot in seemlessly.

They must be due a couple of duds!

I just think that team have to be worn down. The sheer level of grind they’ve been through is not sustainable.

We lost 11 times. Why are you so focused on those 2 particular games?
Had we beaten Woolwich away, 1 game, then they'd never have had the advantage given the 6 point swing

Even a draw would have seen a 3 point swing in the difference.

And the only reason we were ever in a positron to take advantage of an Woolwich slip up is because Conte kept us up there taking points.
In the last 14 games we lost twice, drew 2 and won 10. 32 points from 42. We should really have beaten Man United as well on the balance of play. 35 from 42 is up there with title winners form.

You really sound like a bitter rival fan, if you're basing your argument on if only scenarios then you really have no grounds.
What? In reply to the guy that said Conte gulf between him and Arteta in the past couple of weeks is wrong. Of course Conte is 100x the manager Arteta is, but theres no denying in the last dozen games we were on track to get top 4 fairly easy and then we ballsed it up at Brighton and Brentford and put the ball right back into Woolwich's court again and Conte himself would tell you that ffs. Do you think he was happy we went and staunched Aston Villa etc gave the lads a quick holiday and then dropped 5 points against 2 teams we shoild have beaten in a top 4 race with only a few games left to play? Is that the gulf difference? Or is that us bottling it as well?

Like I said, its a fucking fact that even after we beat Woolwich the outcome of top 4 was firmly in their hands because they were a point above us and only needed to beat Newcastle and they bottled it, exactly like we bottled it a few games earlier. If you asked Conte if he would have liked to have gone into the Woolwich game clear of Woolwich regardless of the outcome and still with the destiny of Top 4 IN OUR HANDS instead of relying on Woolwich to lose he’d pick the former every fucking time.

Of course we did Conte is a legend and I hope he extends with a proper contract. He’s working the miracles same way Poch did and like Poch is getting us properly fit again. Not denying that.

Im just responding to the point the guy was making about recent weeks. We put in the hard work during squeaky bum time then we ballsed it up at Brighton and Brentford and top 4 looked lost all the way up until that critical Woolwich- Newcastle game. And Brightgon and Brentford were meant to be our easiest games in that home stretch. Its a lapse in concentration and energy agaisnt weaker teams we need to improve
