I think we should first establish a stable CL contender, and build the team to challenge. I don't see it happen in the next 2-3 years time. Even if we are so call challenge them. I don't see US challenge them in that time frame.
Let's be realistically.
We were dead wood before Conte, but he ain't enough, even with new signing to close the gap.
We were 6th in 19-20, 40 points behind the 1st place
We were 7th in 20-21
We would have probably end up the same if Conte didn't come on fire.
People were crying that all of our players are dolg****, that Kane is as good as finish, and that we basically need a whole new squad.
And now some people think we can challenge a colossus like City or Liverpool with 2-3 good signing, when we have CL, and still super thin squad. Sorry but this is just a pure illusion.
And when we failed to do so, they will lay on to the manager and blame him for it.
What i'm saying is the gap is too big. We can't narrow that gap in 1 or 2 windows. We are also not City, Real, Barca or PSG, the top players aren't fighting to coming for us, and we also can't give huge transfer fees and huge salaries.
Going that route maybe some team can narrow the gap to City and Pool, but we don't have that, so to expect to challenge or to be close to them it's totally unrealistic.
