Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

GOALS - 3rd
SHOTS ON TARGET - 4th
SHOT CONVERSION RATE - 1st
ACCURATE CROSSES - 3rd
BIG CHANCES CREATED - 3rd
BIG CHANCES MISSED - 2nd

So, we are scoring goals. We are crossing well, and we are creating chances - but we are missing a lot of these.

ACCURATE LONG BALLS - 17th
POSSESION WON IN FINAL 3rd - 17th

We are crap at long balls - which goes against our idea that we can score on the break; and we don't win the ball further up the field.

Its plain to see why Conte hasn't changed it. We are doing everything right except our finishing. If we keep playing the system we are playing; AND our front 3 start converting more of the big chances; we will be scoring the most goals in the league.

So, do you back Kane and Son to improve on their current form?
So we are back to defending deep all game then hoping Kane and Son can win it for us. Great.

And why would he change a system he’s worked with at every club he managed and has been successful? Just because our players are on a shit form?

Good conclusion. Ask a question and answer it right away.

YES! That is what manager should do - he should tweak the system to get best possible result with players he has at his disposal.
Otherwise it would be really simple - put out 11 players in specific system and repeat this selection for 45-50x per season and its done.

We have all seen in past 6 games how well it goes if you play unsuited players to unsuited roles.

P.S he used 3-5-2 quite often in Inter as well. Cause you know, players fitted into this system better.

I read a lot of nervousness, a natural consequence of the defeat in the derby. As a neutral observer, allow me a judgment (not required).

You are in the leading group in an anomalous season where the World Cup will have heavy aftermath: I am thinking of injuries, squeezed players, exhausted mental energies.

I think the important thing is to stay ahead and not lose too many points, then the balance can change.

Being negative when you have only 4 points from the first is only an advantage that you give to the competition.

Definitely agree with this, the players purchased are ok but nothing special just functional.
As for fourth the gunners should of nailed it last season, instead we benefited from it but they will get it this time around for sure.
Agreed. In fact they look the best bet for 2nd. I was annoyed when they got jesus. Hopefully the wheels come off again. But less likely now with the new signings & the confidence they have. Fingers crossed liverpool stop them in their next game to stop the roll they are on.

Let's face it everyone is playing for second spot and down, but yes sadly I could see them getting second but depends on what happens throughout the season of course.

Winning. A. Trophy. Is. Chasing. Harry. Kane. Personal. Goal ?!?!?
I have heard A LOT of stupid things, but have not heard something so stupid for long time.

Winning trophies is WHAT ALL OF IT is about.

What the fuck "ages out" is supposed to mean - look at the actual situation we have. Skippy freshly 22; Sess 22; Kulusevski 22, Romero 24, Bentancur, Richalidson 25, Bissouma and Sanchez 26. All of them are expected to get significant playing time already now. Plus there are prospects like Sarr (freshly 20), Gil (21), Spence (22) and our loanees Udogie (19), Scarlett (18), Parrott (20).

You sound like an utter coward. Like it would not be possible to go after titles and think about the future at the same time. Yet all big clubs have to deal with it. But you seem happy enough to jog about and talk about some mystical "future project". When will this future be then? You can always chicken out and say that "oh, no, we don't go after titles, we go after FUTURE", but what the fuck does that mean?
Ok.

It is a 1 team league so city @ then the other usual 5 in the top 6 with maybe Newcastle being up there. 2nd is open now that liverpool have passed their peak thank god! praise the lord!

If he keeps playing the same starting 11 against Brighton, Frankfurt and Everton, I'm starting the Conte out thread.

Mainly because I think he's a coward. If he doesn't have the guts to start rotating with this schedule what will our injury record look like come spring?

Remember every year when you (and others) have been willing them to finish ahead of Liverpool....?

Essentially, this is the eventuality you've been cheering towards.

Local rivalries are one thing(***); but petro-ball has been the arch enemy for nigh on 20 years now....... Yet the likes of yourself could only muster jealousy towards these clubs and ridicule towards your own team..... (***That said; even Chelski garnered more envy than disdain.)

Exactly. They’ll be zero pant wetting from inside the club.

Nothing better than 6th/7th place in League, 1st knockout round in CL and QF/SF in domestic cups.

But I still very much hope that he can change things.
It is not that it would be catastrophe NOW, there is still time to turn things around. But for that, some decisiveness is needed.

This exactly why managers don’t last as soon as little adversity and difficult periods start the fans cry like little babies.

Jesus is a massive cunt with a permanent crybaby face. Richarlison works his ass off every time he’s on. Jesus also doesn’t want to be a bench option, so no, he was not going to go to the team with Kane and son.

If you like Jesus so much, there’s a club you can support not far away.

Anyone who starts a Conte out thread and/or participates in it in support of it is getting bin voted and blocked.

I'm ok with whatever Conte goes with. The guy knows best. What I do want is for our attackers to find the back of the net and stop squandering chances.

Poch, is this you?

We have a lot of decent but not crap or really good players. Lots of 7/10 players. Then just Kane as world class. So any manager would do well to get us top 4 like conte did last season. Even that took Woolwich blowing it.
I was hoping we would buy more top players this summer rather than more 7/10 type players. But it does give us more squad depth at the very least.
Yet everyonn no e says we have one of the best squads in the pl. better than goons even. His just making excuses as he always does at his clubs. Remember chavs he started the fall out bcos he didn’t get a player he wanted I believe. His got a good squad of players. Which is certainly at a better level than the football we are playing. He should utilising the squad he has to play better football by coaching. Other coaches / teams seem to be able to do it with far less spend and on paper less quality players.

Wtf you talking about? I’m just using him as an example of alternative players to richo we could have gone for. However just comparing the two Jesus has played for a winning team for past 5 years, coached by pep, he dies work his socks off as that is part of peps style can play wide, good ish goal scoring record and his skilful. Now compare that with the £60M we paid for richo. Coached by who, relegation quality team, goals record not that great, falls over, cheats, may be runs about however last few games as a starter his not even done that much, technically the ball often bounces off him and his always ficking offside. Pound for pound I would say most people would agree Jesse is probably the better signing.
Also he would have stated plenty of games. Front 3 of son Kane Jesus sounds a lot better than son Kane richo imo.

Jesus is better than Richarlison. I don't know how that's a controversial take. It's not like he's comparing Jesus to Son.

For me, I know this is not really popular, I'd have taken Cash plus Jesus for Kane last year. Jesus facilitates play better than Richarlison. Richarlison is a one dimensional player. Kulu is injured and our attack has fallen flat.
