Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Conte will be gone before he gets two more windows.

I don’t even feel he will get January. He’s a toxic character like Jose was. We needed to steer well clear of him but football fans in general are short sighted and see finishing in the Top 4 as some kind of trophy.

In reality, we will probably crash out of the CL in the next round and finish 5th-7th this season.

At least with a Potter or Ten Hag type manager, you can finish 5th but see improvement. Chelsea and Man Ure actually enjoy their matches. I hate our football under Jose Mk.2.
He talks about needing time, but I dont think he's even patient enough. I dont know what worlds hes living in where he thinks two transfer windows will make us challengers.

I'm not even sure where he goes if he does leave, the guy falls out with every single board.

Romero is a good CB. Rough around the edges and not even close to what this board thought he was for a while, but good. There's real potential there.

The rest of that list is garbage. Although I did actually rate Foyth and was sad to see him go.
Yeah, definitely a bit wild. A year or two under Pep would polish him up.

Agree on Foyth too, he had flaws but at least he could play, unlike that donkey Sanchez. He just needed someone to tell to release the ball quicker.

The players we keep and the ones we send out has been fucked for a long time too. We've repeatedly had the "x is talented but washed/lazy, so he gets sold, y is not talented but is dependable so he stays", trope play out.

We've bought one good CB since Toby Alderweireld in 2016.

Our CBs "signings" since then:

Foyth -- 11m
Sanchez -- 40m
Tanganga -- free
Rodon -- 11m
Romero -- 45m
Lenglet -- free

Total: 107m. We weren't trying to fix the CB problem FFS. We don't splash out big money, nor do we hoard a bunch of young prospects, and the ones we get are shit.

Chavs just spent about the same on Fofana and Koulibaly in the summer.

Dav certainly was big money at the time(*)..... Even now, 45m is no joke.

(*Dav was horrendously handled by Poch too.)

You could make a list of RBs & LBs in the same manner and the actual answer would be the same........ It's about who; not how much.

Fuck it; when you look at Ndombele, GLC & Sissoko and then realise that by FAR the better signings were PEH & B'cur; the same thing applies.

It's a good fake it fooled a few when it was first done.

But if we carry on like this i can sense a Conte meltdown is on the way. We haven't seen him go postal yet but it could well happen soon.
It's honestly incredible how he falls out with every single board. A week ago I was talking about how he would stay as long as Levy pays his wages because there's no where else to go.

I forgot that I was talking about a football manager, they dont think the same way normal human beings do.

I'll be honest, I'm starting to get worried.

It feels like our competition have all gone up a level while we've been left behind. After today, I'm not even 100% sure we'll get top 6 this season with the way Newcastle are playing. I wouldnt have said that even a few days ago.

I dont know what the answers are but Conte needs to earn that extension. He said we need two transfer windows but I think he's being optimistic, we'll need more than just that. If he wants to stay I hope he knows that and is committed.
We're not that far off a good run and top 4 IMO. These are the same players that thumped Newcastle last season.

It's possible that Kulu and Rich return from injury, and we somehow find our attacking mojo again. The goals we are conceding are really fucking shit, any half decent CB, let's say De Vrij, in Jan could make a big difference.

We are a stronger team than last season but lacking chemistry and confidence.

He's an Italian football manager, their default behaviour is to fall out with every board and director at their clubs. It's par for the course.

Personally i think he's holding himself back here, a bit like a kettle that's about to boil. At any moment that little switch is going to flick and there will be steam coming out of him.

Problem is poch was their best friend and we won the complete sum of nothing. So they cant play for a manager whos won leagues everywhere its fucking mentally weak soft fuckers
its not just a mentality issue with them, its a quality one too. a lot of them players are simply not good enough for tottenham hotspur.

dier, sanchez, davies, emerson do not get into any other top 6 side yet we have 2 of them minimum in our side every game.

but yea the club does have a soft culture, spursy for a reason, fucking soft bottlejobs! got son whos scared of going into challenges ffs! soft as it gets.

maybe the style is just outdated for the prem now, teams press and attack going forward relentlessly, we have no answer for it hitting hopers to son or kane but forget they are not as mobile as they once were, games we win like wolves, and even leicester outplayed us for majority of the game

and the biggest problem is we have not rejuvenated the squad with successors to these old players

kane could go on a free

and son is slowly on the decline like hazard

Good point. Even though half of our eleven needs upgrading to compete properly, maybe Conte knows he’s just not going to get what he wants. Player power wins if it turns sour unfortunately.
