"Prove" what? No-one's trying to 'sell' you anything.

I never applauded either player....... They were being scapegoated for the result even though Dier, Lenglet, Sess & Hugo were all worse.

Were you reading this exchange from the beginning or did you just see see me defending them and jump in thinking "nope, we can't have that."?

I don't care who they are; a player doesn't deserve to be mugged off by default. Saw Davies get pelters yesterday too..... It's a (bad) joke.

Some players have shown they're worth putting up with. Others haven't. Dier got so much shit for his performance, so did Lenglet & Hugo ... go see their threads.

Emerson & Sanchez do this all the time so get judged accordingly. Someone saying 'I don't want to see them play' is perfectly fair because the chances are high they'll be just as mediocre or even worse next time .. so why bother?

I didn't blame them specifically, i said they were oart of the reason we didn't win
Not really. Remove the 2 errors by Lloris and we win 1-0.

Obviously the dynamic is totally different if they don't score from the errors, but they were not part of the reason we lost. The WHOLE reason we lost is down to the errors and us not being able to match or beat their tally. Neither of which can be attributed to either of those players.

The origninal post i responded to said they were not to blame for us losing - i agree with that but just responded saying that they didn't contribute to us turning the game around either

Sanchez did a decent enough job of being a back-up CB last season.... He more than likely wouldn't have survived the cut in the summer otherwise.

...And this means (eg) Emerson should due to prejudice?

Not for me.

That's a hypothetical comment that was not part of the discussion I had.

You or someone else doesn't want them picked. Fine.

I was right; there was nowhere for this convo to go.

Aye, but it's not really their remit is it?

By all means call out those for whom it is, but not them.

If we are going down the blame game route, then the two most culpable have to be Lloris and Son don't you think? Even Kane, though he scored, should shoulder more blame than those 2? Sanchez and Emerson shouldn't even be in that conversation.

Nailed it. Sacked Mourinho on a whim and ended up with ****ing Nuno.
If we did the same with Conte it would probably be worse.
I am not in love with Conte's style of play but if we dump another manager without an actual plan when it is obvious our backline can be an absolute disaster and pretty much needs completely replacing. Our squad has been the problem since the decline of Dembele, Verthongen, Alderweirald, Rose and Wanyama all at the same time.

It was just a throwaway comment as those two players names came up - though i would disagree regarding remit but tbh can't be bothered to go deep on that atm tbh

Well said.

For the past few seasons there have been rather a lot on here who laughed at Arteta and his coaching. Yet given the time to get his process in place, he now has them playing Football that more than a few on here are envious of.

Whether Woolwich implode or not, and I'm not convinced they will, it just goes to show that time and patience can often be required to register a desired result.

If the filth down the road can do that for an untried manager, shouldn't we for a PROVEN winner in his prime?

I remember when Poch first started with us. The Football was ugly and there were more than a few calling for his head.

But then patience has never been a virtue for our fanbase really.

That's fine my friend. I'm not digging you out, just presenting a different perspective.

FWIW, I don't rate either player myself but, much the same as Airfix, I don't think any player should be held accountable if they're not at fault.

There's plenty to point at where these guys are concerned, just not in this game.

Sure, I’d be patient if:
conte had a long term contract
Conte had any record of long term success at a club
Conte was playing footballers with ability instead of royal and sess.

I’m concerned because we clearly need a rebuild and we are using a win now manager who is not using our young players with potential (and using ones that make my eyes bleed).

I’m afraid this club has no plan for replacing son or Kane in the future.
