Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Although Conte's style is a lot more defensive than the likes of Pep or Klopp, he's not quite Nuno or Mou.

We've scored a fair few goals with extended build up, and we've had games we've passed our way out of a press with quick passing at the back.

Conte clearly wants to do better on the ball, it seems to me that we're struggling to do that in part because our players are shite, and Conte himself isn't especially well versed in that area.
I think its just a massive difference from last season to this. Ok last season wasnt champagne football but it was decent enough to watch overall and we scored a lot of goals. I fully admit i've got a complete aversion to boring football but i enjoyed it. Maybe because it felt better post Mourinho/Nuno but we seemed to want to play at least and were passing it around ok. This season on the other hand has been complete shithouse. We've just ground out points in games you'd expect us to win and surrendered to anyone half decent, all the while looking timid, slow, with players looking like they've not passed a football before in their lives.

Mourinho had us top of the league in December.

Nuno was PL Manager of the Month in his first month with us.

There is obviously a solid base here. The struggle has always been the rotation/rest of the "first 11", and the integration of the squad players.

Mourinho expected the players, the "leaders", to create their own order.

Nuno made a first team and a second team, which apparently ruffled some feathers within the squad.

The only continuity throughout (aside from ownership), has been our captaincy.

And I am of the opposite opinion. I'd rather win 1-0 than lose 4-3.

I was losing my head towards the end of Poch's run when we lost a bunch of games but people sat around going "But we were playing beautiful football". Like it was a moral victory.
I definitely rather win 1-0. But If we are gonna lose like we did last week, I'd rather it be fun to watch over some boring slog fest.

This team will be better later in the season than a lot of others. The conditioning will be better than most, the injured players will be back, and I can see Paratici bringing in one solid addition during the next transfer window. The main thing Spurs need now is confidence. It is as simple as some early luck in a few games. I'm fine with Conte because he is committed to winning and confident in his way of doing things. This is going to be a good season.

Do you think think because Conte has changed his approach?

...Or is it down to form, fitness and external factors?

Did you want Conte when we were originally linked at the very beginning of last summer?

We're 3rd in the League after playing 12 games. Top of our `Champions League group after 3 or so years away from the comp with a stupid World Cup crammed in between the beginning of the season and Christmas. Our transfer policy has improved so much over the last year, Im genuinely interested in how fans can be critical of a manager after 12 months who is the SINGLE reason we are in the Champions League and finished 4th. If Conte never arrived last season, we'd be in a far worse position, Thursday night Conference football most likely. Where would the club be then?

Because we're seemingly regressing rather progressing on the pitch. We got a lot of points without playing very well, and thanks to having quality subs like Rich and Kulu, but the future is looking uncertain again.

Our summer transfers don't seem to be panning out at all. We've left obvious gaping holes in the squad and first 11, which is now costing us points.

I feel like I recognise the problems with the squad better than the director/chairman. Which is very alarming.

The football hasn't been perfect, but it's not Conte's tactics its more the way its been implemented by the players. These tactics are exactly the same as last season which got us into the Champions League in the first place. I will 100% admit that it's not been like last season but what do you expect, us to roll over and outplay every single team we play against?

I struggle to understand how people can't understand basic phrases from managers when they say the squad needs a couple more windows. Did you honestly expect us to be dominating the league after Conte being here for 12 months? What manager in the past has ever done that? Klopp? Nope. Pep? Nope. Fergie? Nope. Arteta? Nope.

We have also been missing one of our most influential attacking players in Kulusevski who has such a massive impact on our style.

We will buy players in January, we'll build on what we have and then judge Conte next season, that'll be the one where your points would be valid.

Doing alright I guess but people will go on like we are sitting in top right hand corner.

I really don't know, its bloody strange the difference. I still think the fitness side last season might have been a factor in that we were so unfit until Conte came its like the players had 3 months off August to October. No, i admit i didnt want him last summer. I wanted a manager to play good football and build a side. I thought Conte would be too short term, stodgy football and would want older players that we wouldnt sanction or couldnt afford. That changed after Nuno as i thought we needed a short term lift, which thankfully we got.

I fully expect us to turn this run of bad form around under Conte.

But if he leaves in the summer I kind of hope that we go for Schmidt at Benfica if we want a aggressive attacking manager.

Which may annoy Nabil Bentaleb Nabil Bentaleb . Or make him happy since we remove Schmidt from Benfica.

The guy is a bottler. Third best coach in Portugal.
