Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Video at the top, I had to write his quotes because the article didn't include them, pretty telling though, reading between the lines and in the context of the question asked (about players that got subbed on) this was his response.

Conte - "I think this experience this season, we have to learn a lot, because I hope next season that if we play in both the PL and CL, we need to try with all our possibility to improve the squad with quality and also in the numerical aspect.

Otherwise you risk to play with the same players every game this is not possible because the performance of this player start to go down and today I decided, before an important game in the CL on Thursday to make six changes, to give rest to the players who play every single game and I think this is the secret to have an important squad if we want to play the PL and CL in a decent way, otherwise you lose points because the PL is very very difficult, the intensity in this game today, we lost a lot of energy, mental energy, physical energy.

Pretty evident he wants more quality in the first team but also more quality on the bench for rotation because the players we have that started the game today, he doesn't trust to do the job, he just feels forced to play them so he can rest the others for the CL game.

What he said at the end about

"My players know me very well and for sure the team that wants to give up, is not my kind of team, we have to fight until the end and try to give out best, sometimes you can lose but they know, in every game they have to give me their best because that's what I do for them and also today (but NOT also today) they showed me many circumstances that they believe what we are doing and that we will never ever give up, never.

I think that's pretty telling, essentially saying that the players who came on second half believe in what he is doing but the players he started the game with showed that they are not fighting in the same way which is what many of us highlighted here.

Some of these players are players from other managers and from past squads and it shows and not in a good way, we need a rebuild of players who are all in on Conte and his system and our fans more importantly need to STOP blaming the manager and get behind him and hope he gets backed in the Jan and Summer windows.

Conte will bring us success imo but we need to get behind him and realise that some of these players simply are not good enough.
I don't believe for a second that the likes of Sanchez and Emerson are not giving their all for Conte.

They are just very limited players.

are you dreaming about conte there at juventus? it's understandable, but allegri is fine.
if he want to get rid off some other players like bentancur and kulu let him contact us!
Honestly, I just want a team that plays "to the end". Yesterday for disfigurement Allegri put in 5 young players and Juventus won with a wonderful goal from Fagioli (a goal like Del Piero).
I wonder: did we have to get to this point to see young people on the pitch?

wow what a goal!! is he on sell?

also conte has some problems to trust young players like spence and bryan gil and he still prefers lucas moura (finished player) over gil

Twat, posted around 5 mins into the second half yesterday, got some agrees too!! 🤦🏻‍♂️
He's right. Beating a terrible B'mouth team doesn't prove anything. Our football is dreadful, Wiggy sets us up to defend every single game.

The football is depressingly bad, the "defending" is laughable and I can't wait this season to end and it's only October.

Hopefully Chelski, bin dippers and Woolwich continue to drop points because we need others to be worse than us.

It proves a lot to me.. I have been as pissed off with the 3 games prior to yesterday, as anyone but for me it proved we can play exciting football and have got a great team spirit.

I think Conte is trying to preserve the players during this crazy spell of 9 games in one month.. Yes it hasn't been pretty and at times quite poor but even at 2-2 I was pleased and said at least we know we can play well.

Bournemouth ran out of steam and we took full advantage.

Things are never as good as they seem. However, they're also never as bad as they seem either. Something to remember next time we go on a good or bad run of form.

We’re four points in the League and a draw at Marseille away from a highly successful pre-break period. Everyone would’ve been thrilled with advancing in the CL and in the top four at this stage. Then let’s see after the Cup.

Always find it amazing here.

Some of the wokeratti & their “current thing” coloured flags, engaging in the most toxic & aggressive bullying behaviour to fellow fans for daring to give a football opinion different to theirs, that others share.

Couldn’t make it up. Fair play to you for standing up to it.

It's a troll.

Just finished watching a full re-run of the Bournemouth game and I've never been so confused as a Spurs fan.

So are we shit or are we good?

Yesterday was a summary of the season. We've mostly been shit but we've had good spells in some/most games of 20 or 30 minutes which is enough to beat most of the chud in the division. Trouble is you need more than that to beat the better teams, which is why we've lost 3 out of 4 so far in the league and failed to beat Lisbon in 2 games.
