Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I am not particularly in favour of going back to Poch but the club better get him on the contingency and Paratici better have a plan if we go down that route of the players we need to buy/sell as well as other alternative managers.
I would be surprised if they havent been talking. I wouldnt really want him back but he is a safe option, any other manager is always a risk. We'll be up there with him but never kick on to that next level.

We won’t kick to the next level with anyone unless we have the best scouting and spend at least not a million miles off the likes off City, Chelsea, Newcastle etc. That’s a challenge bigger than just the manager unfortunately.

Main issue with changing from Conte to Poch is the systems need different players. We would need to buy elite young high energy players and more AM’s for Poch. So it’s a bigger transfer window next summer, from 4-5 new players for Conte to 7-8 new players for Poch.

I think we need an overhaul and a painful rebuild anyway. Even then we wont reach City's dominance, but I'd like to see us do what the cunts next door have done.

Not having inevitable defeat narrative.

So far:

Lost to a faltering Dippers.
Drew v BVB
Drew v Copenhagen
Drew v Villa.
Drew v Barca
Drew v Newcastle
- They raised their game against City. It was more of a fight because of sheer pride, and they still got lucky.
- City didn't even bother.
- City didn't even bother.
- That was surprising, full credit to Villa.
- Are we counting friendlies now?
- City underestimated Newcastle, ans paid the price. Plus, Newcastle are a very good side.

Not sure if you meant Juno or Glasto but just seen some of the latters posts & deffo don’t wanna strike up a chat with that kind of rhetoric.

Still learning the ropes round here, appreciate the heads up.

Glasto.....

I'm sure you realise this anyway; but it's often not so much the rhetoric of individual posts as it is the broader intent and behaviour.

Guy can be found on opoo forums trying to trigger people with contrarian excessively pro-Spurs opinons... Here he's just flipped the script here; doing the same from a Spurs-negative point of view.

Wish I had that much time! 😂

....But still; as I've illustrated defeat isn't "inevitable".

City have never been impregnable in all Pep's time here and as they're now becoming Haaland-centric they'll be even less so.

Yeah, but you need to be on 150% and you need them to be on their day off and/or underestimate you. That's as close to inevitability as you can get.

Meh... Just sounds like defeatism to me.

I have City down as vast favourites for the title, but I didn't choose the word "inevitable"...... I don't really believe football works that way.

Quote where I said I'm happy or satisfied with how we are playing.

Once again you are trying to move the goal posts and it's a very transparent ploy of yours to deflect from your original post ;

We were discussing a one off clip of the Chavs, which you have now changed to a broader subject.
(See my reply to skywalker68 )

I'm still waiting for other clips of Chelsea moving the ball quickly from back to front, and maybe even scoring.

Now, you can either provide more examples of Chelsea doing that time and again or you can concede that every team, in isolation, has clips like that and that your argument was disingenuous.

The other option is to continue to deflect and move the goal posts.

Oh for fuck sake... talking about moving goalposts.
Lets leave everything else aside and talk about cold facts.

Video was posted about Chelsea build-up play. From the game that took place in previous day.
You responded with clip from last season (!) .

It is painfully obvious that I will not provide some videos about Chelsea games. I don't follow Chelsea, I follow Spurs. It is quite funny that while you post video that is half a year old, you come and ask to be provided any other examples from recent games, after you have provided none at all. What are we even arguing about here.

From some point I felt it was obvious that discussion went wider, because we have played quite poor football and have not been direct enough. And I pointed this out, you brought forward some data about stats from start of the season until now ?!? And then you come back to this video question in the beginning.

I feel that all of this is bit nuts and I think we should just leave it there.
I stand by what I said - we play shit football and our build up play is shockingly awful recently. Something that has been backed by the fact that within past 450 minutes of football we have scored 2 goals from open play (!) (that is PEH against Everton and Sess yesterday) and from last 4 games we have only one win, in which we also failed to create quality chances to break down bottom half team.

Our fans are spoilt. There were fans calling for him to be sacked at half time.

This is Conte's first full season, we are still a few players short of being a Conte side. 2 more windows, Hakimi and Bastoni would turn this side into a Conte team.

Oh yeah?
Specially if we would also get in de Jong, Mbappe, Oblak, Skriniar, Brozovic and few others as well.
Then it would be party, right?

Only small matter is - we are not ManCity and with players available to him now, we should be doing better than we have in past 4 games.

Over the last 2 games conte has shown that (in the second half and chasing the game) he can get us pinning teams back and playing higher up the pitch. Imo it's stupid continuing to start up so defensively when our defence is so shit. Our attackers are our strong point get them closer to other teams goals and causing problems and taking pressure off of our brittle back line.

Well...
Are they really?

I agree that Kane is really valuable asset and has carried us this season. But I would argue that apart from him, attacking is our weak point. We don't get enough output from Son (literally - 1036 minutes of EPL football and with that time he has influenced 2 games), Richie is yet to sync well with others. And Kulu unfortunately being out.

Without being ITK at all, I reckon Conte will be waiting to see how we do up until the WC and whether he’ll get a decent budget for reinforcements in the January transfer. Win the next 4 games and we’ll be into the next round of the CL and EFL and have consolidated top 3 spot considering that some of teams around us are playing each other. Levy needs to get out his cheque book again and basically get at least 2 players IMHO into the team that will genuinely strengthen our starting 11. Then Conte, and Kane, need to sign contract extensions. Will set us up well for the rest of the season. That’s what I’d be doing but we’ll see.

If I were Levy and Paratici I'd definitely keep an eye on alternative managers that use a similar system/formation as Conte's as well. Even if Poch probably is the likely option if Conte goes.

Someone like Amorim or Glazner. De Zerbi would have been perfect had he not gone to Brighton.
