Sounds like he's off to Juve again
Easy to say this in the press though isn't it, I would suggest I would believe it a lot more if he signed an extension instead.

It’s not a great post. It’s the same shit we have heard from Conte backers every time.

1. Getting us into top four last season was great. But it’s not like it was a miracle. We had a talented squad and were fortunate that Woolwich choked at Newcastle. We played great for the second half of the season but still slipped up a few times.

2. Being fourth right now. Again, lucky Liverpool and Chelsea (both teams that have beat us) are playing worse than us or else we would be 6th. We have been outplayed in more games than not this season. We have not scored in the first half 8 straight games and have gone 2-0 down in 5 straight domestic games. It’s pathetic for the talent we have.

3. Injuries to Richarlison and Kulu hurt. No doubt. But not trying fringe players is all on Conte. He gives them one chance to play and if they make a minor mistake they are gone. Or in Spence’s case, not even a chance. You need to play players consistently to get them in form. Not one game a month.

4. Conte has been crying about transfer windows since day 1 and is still saying “two windows away”

5. Maybe if Conte rotated our players wouldn’t be so tired. Every other team does it but Conte won’t.

6. Getting knocked out is one thing. Being embarrassed by playing our A team and losing to a relegation B team is the problem.

Getting us into the top 4 was massive. To say anyone could have done that with the squad is crazy... Nuno couldn't!

4th now is excellent, not sure it's down to luck

Conte sees fringe players day-in day-out, I would love to see one come on and boss it, but there's a reason for not picking them. They either don't get what's required, or aren't good enough.

Every other team rotates players but only three are above us at the moment... Maybe that is the proof to not rotate unless you have a squad like City.

I get your frustrations, but parts seem irrational

lols but why would he? He has the power and is holding a gun to the clubs head. I for one thank him for that because it means they have to keep pushing.

A long contract isn't in our best interest. Also, if another club wanted him, they would just buy his contract out, which is done all the time.

If he's not happy and wants to leave then he will the toxic and the quicker we can get rid the better. It's easier for everyone this way.

I get what you're saying but it's easy to approach this from a glass half full (me), or half empty (you) angle which can skew things massively.

I don't for one minute think all is rosy, but when I look at the cold hard facts. Our position, and progress in the CL is probably seen as on course. Sure we left it late in the CL, we left it even later against AJAX but that's football. It's not over until the final whistle. Don't they say the best teams win when they're not playing well. I might be clutching at straws but I hope we hit our stride.
For me the position in the league is fine, if you'd have told me before the season started that by the break we would be in the top 4 and through to the CL knockouts I would have been happy enough.

However that's just looking at things surface level, the position is good but could have been better, we are there due to a good start, and currently clinging on to it. Had we maintained our form then we would be right in the title mix. That makes it frustrating for me, it also means that we don't have much momentum at present that leaves me worrying that we are more likely to continue to drop than we are to chase down those above us.

We all know the nature of our progression through the CL group so I won't bother commenting on that, ultimately we are through and in 1st place, that's all that matters for now on that front.

However, on an overall level, the performances have been way below what I would expect for the entire season so far. If this is some sort of long term ploy from Conte to finish the season strong then he better hope that the gamble really fucking pays off after Christmas, because right now all it looks like to me is that typical Spurs have set it up to look like some major achievement if/when we come 4th at the end...

It's vital that we win against Leeds tomorrow for me, we need to take some positivity into the break and to make sure that we still have a firm hold on top 4, then use the break wisely for those not going to the WC, get some players in for the beginning of January to bolster the squad, injured players returning, others rested and pick up again post Xmas intent on giving the fans something to cheer about...

But in order for Conte to be backed to the degree that he would be happy and deliver something we need the finances of City or Newcastle. He won't get that. So he might as well leave now during the world cup break.

That's pure opinion. You'll forgive me for not taking your word as gospel, I'm sure.

I hope he’s being honest. But his track record at other clubs doesn’t reflect his words. And let’s be honest, he’s not going to say he doesn’t want to stay long term.

As long as Conte has always got what he wanted he's always stayed at his clubs, he's been consistent with his messages and he constantly preaches honesty and ambition from the board, he gets that and he isn't going anywhere.

I never said anyone could do it. I said we had the talent in the squad for it.

4th now is not excellent when you take in the context. People are ignoring the fact we have been embarrassed in every big PL game outside the Chelsea one this season. Even Newcastle looked much better then us.

Since Oct 1 we are 3-0-4 in the league. There is nothing good or excellent about our current position imo.

We're in the top 4. That is good.

Anyone who says being in the top 4 isn't good is a clownshoe bag o' balls with a definite agenda to be miserable and/or troll.

Wind your neck in or return to your own club's forum.

That's nonsense, he doesn't need big money to succeed#, it's a myth and I feel that people throw him in the Mourinho bracket in that respect.

Tottenham boss Conte laughs off claims he has to spend to be a success

Which is why he keeps going on about Spurs making clever purchases, he' been rightly bemoaning our transfer strategy ever since he's got here including our club record signing who he shipped out and replaced him with a player who cost £17m for example.

“If you want to go to another level and be competitive, especially in England, to win in England, you need to invest, not only to invest but to invest a lot of money"

The season didn't start in October though, strange point.

I dont think he needs, or expects that. Just ambition and to sign players in a bracket that a london based champions league club with a super high ticket prices should be signing , players who are ready and not ones that might be great in 5 years

And thats one of the things i really like about Conte, he wont stand for it the way Mourhino did, or Poch did. Of course in the case of the later it just ate him up inside until he became ultra miserable until dismissed.
Levy knows Conte wont hang around, he'll just leave the club in the hands of Ryan Mason in heart beat

For the 6th/7th richest club in the league to be sat in 4th is a good thing.....

Yes, the glass half empty argument could be that Chavs, Utd, Pool are struggling, but the flipside to that is that if we were playing even better, we'd be taking even more advantage of their plight and enjoying an even wider gap..... But as the saying goes, my Aunt is not my Uncle.... Our standing is actual; not hypothetical.

Even Newcastle looked much better then us.

Aside from us being dumb enough to gift them 2 goals; in terms of what they did or didn't do, not really..... The same way that Liverpool didn't "embarrass" us either.... It was self inflicted.

Man U battered us.... Neither of these games looked remotely like that.

Since Oct 1 we are 3-0-4 in the league. There is nothing good or excellent about our current position imo.

When relative success (proverbial 'destiny') is still within your hands it's always a "good" situation to be in.

.......5th or below means we'd be reliant upon others dropping points.
