Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Hope Pochettino still knows the way to the New place.

Not idea but this background sh!t is stinking the place out

I could not give a fcuk for Conte, who absolutely wants his cake and to eat it. Waster.

I'm not joking.

I'm a believer.

Poch comes back, Spence, Sarr, Bissouma and Skipp come into the side.

Son finds last seasons boots and the multi goal batterings of opposing teams begin again.

Spurs revert to 4-2-3-1 and play entertaining football.

The crowd get back on board and the home games become exciting again.

Spurs get to the Champions League Final and win the F.A. Cup

I expect Spurs to play Woolwich for a third time in the F.A. Cup semi final and win.

Woolwich blow the league in the last few fixtures of the season.

Spurs win the Champions League.

This is the new script.

Get hold of it.
I presume there are lots of goblins and elves and dragons in your script as well

If he gets top 4, he deserves a new contract.

5 points behind Newcastle with 19 games left. We can do it.

We need Porro and a centre back in this window.

In the Summer, we then need a keeper, another centre back, lwb, cm and attacker.

Not sure what anyone expects with a midfield of Doherty, Hojberg, Sarr and Sessegnon? with Donkey Dier at the back? You can all talk about tactics and formations all you like but it is and always has been about the players.

Whatever formation we play we still need to field at least one of Royal, Doherty, Davies, Sanchez, Dier, Tanganga, or Sessegnon. This lot wouldnt look out of place in the Championship and certainly no top half PL club would want them.

Yesterday we had 3 of these losers playing. Now you might be able to get away with 1 in certain games maybe 2. But not 3 against a team who are top of the league.

So yeah blame yet another manager all you like but the real issue is that Levy has not invested on the right players at the right time, has not sold our dross at the right times and has allowed our squad to deteriorate. Its all on the owners!!!
Lol so brave to put all the blame on Levy. Everybody knows he’s a problem but to just absolve Conte of any blame is hilarious.

Is he not supposed to be one of the best managers in the world? Is he not supposed to have this world class winning mentality? We don’t have the best players but we do have good enough players to not put out the performances Conte puts out lately.

I’m optimistic if we get rid of Conte now but not that optimistic! I need to get a little of what you’re drinking

Really well put.

A decade ago, the PL tactic was just to buy good foreign players that didn’t want real or Barca.

Then poch helped start the pressing fad. Slowly, PL teams realized this was an effective strategy as it created high quality chances.

What’s good against pressing? Well pressing becomes useless if you don’t even try and possess and you just sit back in a low block, defend and counter. so teams started doing this. I’m not saying this strategy only started 5 years ago… but it’s never been so pronounced and every single team can defend like this now… even top teams.

So now every team is sitting back. So now you need a tactic that can break down a set defense. So you get managers that can train intricate passing patterns but also allow players to improvise.

And now teams are pressing, playing a low block, and playing attacking patterns every game. And if a team can only do 1 or 2 of these well, they won’t consistently get results.

Conte is stale. Our press is laughable. We can counter but can’t defend consistently. We rely on the individual talent of kulu or Kane to break anyone down.

We need to find a manager with modern tactics… not one who is history. And preferably a flexible one that can adapt because the leagues tactics will change in the next 5 years. But conte is the least flexible manager I’ve ever seen.
I really don't know about that. I think I agree but it's close between Conte and Mourinho

When you say it like that, it seems doable. But we started 5-2-0 and are playing at a 51 point pace in the last 12 games.

Our advanced stats are not good with things like an xGD of 3.5 and xPoints of 30.

Can we flip a switch and improve? Sure, but there haven’t been any signs it’s going to happen. My guess is it would be heavily reliant on Kulusevski getting in form and staying healthy.

And we have not just Newcastle to worry about, but also liverpool. Even Chelsea are only 5 points behind us.

I just don’t see it.

I was looking at the Premier League table last night and a thought crossed my mind.

Spurs have been gash all season.

No doubt about that.

When we win it has usually been scruffy and ugly.

When we lose it has usually been badly.

When we draw it has usually been dull and dreary.

Despite all of this had Kane's 2nd header against Brentford, that hit the bar, gone in and had we taken our chances and beaten Villa at home; we would have gone into yesterday's game against Woolwich needing a win to go 2nd in the Premier League table that would have taken us within 3 points of Woolwich.

Fine margins.

I'm not overly impressed with this Woolwich team.

I went to nearly all the home and away games that Spurs played against their 'invincibles' team.

That Woolwich team were probably the best football team I have ever seen.

That is very hard to admit but it is true.

Their current team have a better record than that team so far this season; when compared to that teams best season.

It cannot be so.

The evidence of my eyes tells me that.

I've seen both teams.

38 games will find them out.

Long way to go.

I’m just so over changing the manager every season for the last 4 years? Just screams lack of vision.

The board have a lot to answer for, but Conte isn’t blameless l. He was backed last summer, yes it could’ve been better, but we brought in three good to great players that should’ve seen us maintain our last seasons form. Instead stuff didn’t look right from the get go.

I don't think Conte is the biggest thing wrong at the club, but he's quickly become the thing that's personally pissing me off the most.

Fed up with the mind games and 4D chess. He expects the players to buy-in to his way 100% but won't commit himself. We need someone who is all in and will shout it from the rooftops.

I know this won't solve the problems with levy, but the players simply can't handle the Conte/Jose approach of being run down in the media to prove a point. (Not saying the criticism isn't justified, just that the approach is backfiring.)

Think the supporters all really need to hear some fighting talk again too.
