Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Wish him the best for his health. That's more important than results. I don't know what the plan is in the summer but it seems like an amicable parting is guaranteed now with his comments last night about Italy.

Ten Hag is suddenly a higher quality coach than Conte?

Maybe not so much flexibility from him atm but 3-4-3 isn’t Conte’s usual formation.

Klopp plays 4atb but Porro and Trent are very similar. Trent hardly crosses the halfway line. The CMs in Klopps system do all the hard work.

Be honest, you’ve picked a position and opinion on a player before they have signed, because you think a manager is leaving and then confirmed that opinion in your head after one game BUT really you haven’t thought that opinion through very well?
I didn’t see the Leicester game so I haven’t based anything off that game. I was watching France v Ireland which overlapped and at an event.

I’ve been very open about the fact I had an opinion on a player before he signed, in part because of his weaknesses defensively and in part because the position he plays in is unlikely to be used by a future coach. I’m telling you my reasoning. There’s no need to guess at it.

Also, I hope he’s a success and I’m wrong.

Lots of things can be true at the same time.

Hardly impossible.

There was a moment where it was silly to think Jurgen Klopp was a higher quality coach than Arsene Wenger, then before long it was silly to think anything else.

But there was also a moment when it was no longer silly to think Thomas Tuchel was a higher quality coach than Pep Guardiola, but in due time that became silly again.

Time will tell. Ten Hag certainly brings some good ideas to the table.

Surely has to win a few things before he’s close to being better?

it’s hard to escape the conclusion that Coach Conte really should have had this procedure done in London rather than going back to Italy for it.

On the one hand, 100%.

On the other, if you look back and pinpoint the moment at which Jose Mourinho is a "better coach" than Sven Goran Eriksson, it's gotta be before May 2003, right?

A manager's reputation is a lagging indicator of their actual ability to create winning.
Truth is I’m not sure it’s easy to say which manager is better than the other,

They are dependent on how well put together their squads are and then luck.

Poch was world class at Spurs but PSG did his rep no good at all

I wish him well in his recovery, he needs a complete rest and shouldn't have come back.

Do I want to see him back? Not so sure, TBH. Don't think his heart is with us, so might be a good opportunity to sever ties cleanly.

He's also a lying bastard who claims "It's not about money" but won't admit he's shit and step down without a pay off.
Remember him going on about rotation then preceding to play the sane 11 mainly. His a liar. He also said during wc break that he was impressed with Gil, white and a few others. Then few weeks later they’ve bin shipped out and his got a couple shiny new toys. Never wanted to work the young players never has.

Terrible recruitment.

But I don’t want to hear most of the people on here complain when they are frothing at the mouth about the fact it took too long to sign him. Fact is, he should never have been signed at all.

Still hope he tears it up and becomes a competent right back long term.
I said along he was not needed and is not the saviour. His BS tactics need more than one rwb.

I wonder if there will soon be a joint statement from the club & Antonio stating that he's taking some time away from football to recover fully, wants to spend more time with his family, end of contract in a few months anyway, Stellini in charge until a replacement has been found, blah, blah, etc., etc.

Or he'll be back next weekend full of the joys of spring.

Anything's possible.
When is he ever full of joy?
