But even so, it wasn't enough for Conte. The team needed a serious overhaul, which is only really happening now.
The issue with Conte is also that he refuses to work with players and working with what he has. He has to have ready made players brought in constantly to sustain his style of football.
Absolutely. Which again not only begs the question why we went for him, but why he continues to be employed. If you don't have a ready made team, you are looking at £400m+ of team investment.

This. He just wanna be seen like doing the club he managed a favour and be indebted to him so he's above everyone and nothing is ever his fault.
For me he fucked it. He had us playing really well in that 2nd half of his first season. He was backed but we were not the same team the season before, we went backwards and that’s on him I’m afraid.
I thought the club (including supporters were really supportive of his personal issues too, which he shat on all of us with his behavior).
