Crazy. You can see in his movement what he wants to do and how he plays. So obvious he needs to be in the middle/attacking areas of the pitch.

I don't understand why we aren't playing him in midfield.
Roma were playing power play with us for most parts of second half, and as pointed out often ended with to players to cover. No worse than the other defenders, and - what I commented on - not unsuited to play at back.

Because he's playing shit at full back. Rewatch the game and focus on him. Pure gash defensively.Goes to engage leaving easy gaps to exploit. 1 on 1 defending gets done everytime. He's a shit full back because it's clearly not his position.

Has Gray gotten any minutes in CDM for us this season? I'm struggling to remember if it's happened at all outside of pre-season.
He's not playing shit at LB.... Time and time again he was left massively exposed by Sonny and whoever was meant to be playing LCM.
For a lad stuck on his weaker foot who's not allowed to just stay wide and defend his flank.... He's making a fair stab at it.
No I don't think he has... Woulda been interesting to see him get some minutes there, he was clearly out of his depth at LB... even RB would've suited him better tonight, but I guess Ange had to make a decision between who to rest at LB or RB, and Gray just filled in where needed, which was probably a good sign in the long run.

I thought he did ok tonight defensively. He was targeted 2-on-1 all game and did a good job of holding his man up until help arrived.

He's a talented player but he's not a left back and its absurd to pick him there. Cant imagine its doing a lot for his confidence.
