good performance by gray. need to see more of that sort of stuff where he takes risks and actually displays more of his ability rather than just being safe all the time. this kids got a lot of talent, hopefully frank can hone it.

Tel deservedly getting pelters, Johnson gets slagged off when he fucking scores and this kid gets left alone time and time again despite him being absolutely abysmal when playing in CM.
I'm not exaggerating here, we could have got any cm from our under 16s to do what he's done. The guy is always yards away from play, doesn't know what he's meant to be doing in a Positional sense, doesn't offer anything going forward. It's literally so embarrasing what he has offered and absolutely nobody can tell me Devine and/or Donely wouldn't have offered something better.

Problem we keep seeing is he's just not there off the ball / tactically. In CB he was always playing folk onside. In CM his positioning is also sloppy and lazy.
He could still come good under the right coaching environment. He has some good attributes. The stuff he lacks can be coached and learned with experience.

When he plays CM again just watch him. You can't tell if he's meant to be playing as a DM, box to box, attacking. He literally chases shadows all the time.
Ange was God awful but I remember they asked him about playing Gray in midfield and he literally said "I want to win games". I mean wtf are we doing here.

He is 19 years old. 19.
He has shown plenty last year as an 18 year old, mainly having to play out of position in a shit team with no tactics or structure.
He did very well in pre season against Newcastle.
Go check out some of the PL great midfielders at 19. Lampard, Keane, Vieira, Scholes. None of them played regular football at 19, let alone 18.
Pretty much only one would be Gerrard who broke through at that age.

No mate you're unreasonable because you hyped him up ridiculously when we signed him so you can't bring yourself to admit he has been abysmal when played in CM (and ok at CB).
Bergvall is the same age bought for a 4th of the price and he goes looking for the ball. He's not a passive passenger that does everything in his power not to be involved in general play.
If you take his performances in isolation without price tag you would want him loaned at a minimum.
yea theres some ability and talent on the ball no doubt, he is very suspect in defending one on ones tho, gets skinned too easy.

I’m struggling with this kid , had he been £10m id possibly give him the benefit of the doubt but he’s £40m and at 18 he needs to be a superstar. Did he touch the ball when he came on ?

Ange then proceeded to publicly state he wants to win games when questioned as to why Gray hasn't been given a chance in midfield and then quickly discarded him when everyone started getting fit again. We would lose game after game and he still barely played him FFS.
