Competition Are we playing for 5th ?

I remember reading when Frank arrived that it took him about 20 matches at Brentford to see them playing as he wanted and they were poor during those matches. He started the season ok but now having the problems. We are not a club that gives Managers time and the biggest problem is our home form which a good deal is anxiety in the players afraid to make mistakes or take a chance because of negative reaction from the crowd.

I felt sure we would win Sunday but that show has made matters a whole lot worse. Can Frank turn it around or should we get someone in now when we know that the best Managers are in a job and will only leave in the summer. Our options are not good. When Kula & Solanke will be match fit is anyone’s guess but not this year by the looks of it.

Will some of the underperforming players start to click ? Simmons is a major disappointment but will not get better not playing. Muani is at last showing signs of being the player we expected. We lose Sarr. Shortly but other teams lose more.

Other teams are showing that it can be turned around, MU &Forest but can Frank do it? Unless the board know that they can get someone better then we have no option but to hope so but time is running out.
 
I think it looks like this team will average between 1 & 1.4 ppg for the rest of this season, which means finishing between 43 & 53 points. If they underperform then it could be, I’d guess 35-45 points range. Will that be enough to stay up this season ?

9 teams with 4 points of 15th

I think if to decide the final 5th - 15th placings you just pulled all 10 teams out of a hat you’d get as many right as if you analysed the data.

I thought we would win, but that massive stroke of luck, and fucking Vicario just ruined everything.

And the players crumbled.

Mate.

Conte practically told us that it was the players.

He said they were protected.

Then he spoke about the chairman.

The resale value of players like Romero was what Levy wanted to protect.

That undermines any manager who wants to pick what he believes to be his best team or to drop players that he would rather not have in the team for whatever reason.

We are heading towards another 15th or worse finish this season.

Can imagine that a fair few people will wholeheartedly disagree with this but did a quick look at how we have done in past 2 and a bit seasons and it's getting worse and worse.

23/23 season 66 points
24/25 season 38 points
25/26 season 18 points

Total 89 games and 122 points so 1.37 points per game so that's 52 points over a season

Last 80 games and it's 98 points so 1.23 points per game so that's 46 points over a season

Last 50 games and it's 55 points so 1.1 points per game so that's 42 points

46 points would get us no higher than 14th in past 2 seasons and 42 points would of gotten us no higher than 15th.

So over last 80 league games we are trending for 14th and if we go shorter than that we are trending worse.

We cannot in any serious way call ourselves a big club. We are a lower table team with players and a manager who fit that description.
Thinking about top 5 is laughable.
