Can someone explain to me why Porro is a wingback rather than an out and out winger? He’s pretty good in the attacking third, but useless on the rest of the pitch.

I mean, why play him at wingback instead of, say, Kulu? What qualities make him a wb instead of a w?

100%. He's a huge liability on defense and, unfortunately, we are already beyond our limit of defensive liabilities.
