I think it's more about familiarity and security.
He's been at a big club for a decade - doubt he'd want the effort of reintegrating him and his family into an unknown for what may be a couple of years at most.
Great servant..long season coming and you need players like Ben who can play a number of positions and a vastly expierenced player someone like Frank will utilise.
Frank plays 3 at the back. Could be a thing next season.
He moved to 4 at the back last season but hell probably use a variation of formations including a back 5

Pleased he’s staying. Still a valuable squad member and will be good to keep around the younger players.
