Ex-Spurs Player Brennan Johnson

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Geezer gets never ending abuse from the fanbase but we currently have 3 players in the starting 11 that literally have offered absolutely nothing going forward.

Johnson at least offers a goal threat...at least that. We have Xavi who pisses his pants every time theres an opening for a shot, Odobert who exists and Tel who loses a strength battle with wind.
So how bad must Johnson be if he still can't get in the side?

But he’s terrible everywhere else and we would have created even less and conceded more with him on the pitch.

He had a half chance and hit it to the corner flag.

Well, he had some of the best defensive stats of an attacking player last season. Top 3 in tackles and blocks. Villa was playing a higher line in the first half; and Johnson would have done better than Tel at exposing that.

He put in a fantastic cross yesterday in the dying seconds that was on a plate for any decent striker to attack.

Now that we have finally have a player in Kudus that actually puts some crosses across the 5 yard box - we suddenly drop the 'tap in merchant' Johnson. Very odd.

He was scoring regularly now he's not. In fact no one is. im not sure why he deserves bit part playing behind the players who have been given the nod ahead of him when at the start of the season he was scoring goals. I just feel that his late/early season form or confidence has been destroyed which is so important for a striker.

If he had ANYTHING to his game besides scoring, he’d be playing. It’s just really rare to find a player this poor in build up.

It is curious. At this point it is clear Odobert is offering something that Frank values above what Johnson has shown. My guess is Odobert is winning the spot on the practice pitch and Johnson isn't. You don't pass over your leading goal scorer from last season without a reason.

You do when he can’t beat a man, change direction or pass or control a football, and is a lazy cunt to boot
