Ex-Spurs Player Brennan Johnson

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Ok. He’s gone and good luck to the guy.

However, where is the replacement within the squad? Without some back up will be light again for the busiest part of the season, that makes no sense to me. The deal screams of ENIC clearing the balance of the debt owed to Forest, not clearing the way for reinforcements.

Obviously hope I am misreading the situation name someone is coming over the hill. 🔜

What if they make Muani permanent?

We are less than a day into the window. I think it’s too early to worry about this. It’s not like BJ needs a replacement by tomorrow. He’s not been getting much playing time.

Muani doesnt even play the same position. He’s been primarily at CF and as an emergency LW. BJ is dreadful outside of RW.

I don’t see Muani as a replacement for BJ, but he’s absolutely a better player.

I think Muani is a centre forward in a front 3 and has been playing out of position.

I see Solanke and / or Muani as the best central striker option.

Kudus and Kulu off the right.

Richy and Odebert off the left.

Brennan gets sold and Tel goes out on loan.

Once everyone is fit of course.

Neither of those players on the left are good enough at that position.

Kudus was the BJ replacement. Now we need a real LWer that we somehow didn’t address in the summer.

I agree but I expect that to be the way it plays out until the end of this season.

It is possible a left winger is also bought and Odebert goes out on loan in January.

This may depend upon Spurs selling other players too or getting wages off the books in respect of Bissouma.

He has ; but he has struggled for fitness and with injuries.

He's shown some decent ability, in some matches, without being totally convincing.

I think Muani would be a decent option to compete with Solanke as the main striker.

Thing is, he's 27. He should be in and around his prime. He doesn't ever look dangerous to me, and has the same kind of thing about him that Werner had. A skillful player that lacks final product.

He's not really even got a CV of a player that justifies the money. I could easily imagine him playing for Fulham and being one of those Chris Wood type players that does a good job but everyone admits no top 6 club would go near.

Nope, I just find it funny that so many are aboard selling Johnson, without any sense of seeing what a replacement looks like, or indeed if we ade going to get a replacement.

And my concern is that Frank sanctions the sale and purchases, where I have seen nothing that gives me confidence in his decision-making.
Fair points filled with logic....following the same theme I'd add it's probably a prudent time to do a deal for him whilst there are interested parties circling around a player who is fit and not being used.

Muani got 15 in 32 games for Frankfurt during 22 / 23.

He also got 8 in 16 on loan at Juventus last season.

That's not far off 1 goal every two games in the German and Italian leagues.

He hasn't done it at PSG; that is clear.

However; I reckon he is worth the risk.

What do they want for him?

Limited but effective as opposed to limited and ineffective, which might be able to be said about more players on our books than Johnson.

So we sell Johnson first.

Club is bonkers.

I think we just wait till the seasons end see how he is doing. Its early days for me. He had all injuries disruption.

Was it injury at PSG?
No, not the coaches cup of tea. He seems...err how can I put it, a bit of mouse don't think Enrique likes him. Wanted more ego look at what he has done with Dembele.

The modern (utterly misplaced quote from Gilbert Enoka which seems to have become Choir boys only) isnt something the Spaniard buys. In hindsight how good would he have been ( Paratici pick Levy wanted Ange). He would have been brilliant for Spurs we need winners and a bit of ego not fake hard men and mummies little soilders. No dickheads indeed:Zlatan, Ballotelli , Best, Rooney , Costa, Pepe, lamela, Rafael van der vart, Gatuso every one of these dickheads improves us.
