Horrible game this, Brentford are good at home. They've got good results there, and were unlucky to lose it late to Liverpool the other week.

Van de Ven I imagine comes straight back in, Spence should be fine as well. I'd like Reguilon to get a game as well, a proper left back. I can't do with see Dragusin anymore, but I'd also rather see Gray in midfield than centre back. Any chance Romero might get 45 minutes if he's in training?

Kinsky
Spence - Romero* - VdV - Reguilon
Bentancur - Gray
Moore - Deki - Son
Richarlison
I'd love to see that, but expect either Dragusin at CB with Gray at LB or Gray at CB with Davies at LB. Biss in midfield, Deki on the right and Bergvall in the middle. Either way it's going to be a really tough game, and you know Wissa will bag now we've been linked with him.

EDIT - Dragusin is injured, of course he is.

Dragusin injury is a massive pain in the arse.

Without it:

Bentancur, Son, VDV, Bissouma, Dragusin, Kulusevski all played 45 mins and relatively rested.

Also means one of Gray or Davies starts Brentford on the bench and VDV plays 60mins instead then subbed probably for Davies so he’s ready for 90 @ Anfield.

The only positive is that Sarr actually looked decent at FB and in theory we could still start Gray and VDV at CB then Davies for VDV on 60mins.

To be honest, although it’s not helpful for the numbers game, I think it helps our season massively. Gray’s just so much better for the system - him and Mickey instantly clicked last night. But if Radu stays fit, Ange would have been forced to play him because of the pecking order. And he’s just been bad lately. As long as we get a bit of luck with Mickey and Romero staying fit, I reckon it’ll be good.

Agree for the season 100%

For the rotation in this pivotal week, you’d still want Dragusin available.

Romero probably needs to get nursed back in like VDV so extra CB bodies are needed.

Also the natural balance of having a left footer there.
Think in back-4 its not that important like in back-5. Just look at VDV on Liverpool who plays as LCB without any problems. Also remember Micky had no issues playing as RCB i think after Dragusin was sent off against Qarabag.

Its more like to me - if youre good with the ball, no big difference for you which side you play in back 4 at CB. If you are bad as Dragusin - playing on preffered side might help you a little bit, but probably you will be caught at some point anyway.

Sarr looked comfortable cos in possession (which was 99% of the time) he was essentially just playing as an inside CM; basically his position.

On Sunday he'll have Mbeumo running at him all game.

Ideally:

Porro / Gray / VDV (+ Davies sub) / Spence

if not:

Spence / Gray / VDV (+ Davies sub) / Reg

Hope to god we don't see Sonny at CF; it'll virtually be a day off for their back 4.

Personally I thought that balance was visible last night.

VVD (one of the best) is a bit of an exceptional case....... We're comparing to Gray who's not even a full time CB! ......It's obvious he'll feel more comfortable on his stronger foot. Just another reason why he's done so well with what he's been asked to do this season.

I would 1000% prefer Sarr vs Mbuemo 1v1 than Reguillon. Especially a Reguillon in the last days of the window hoping to go out on loan to up his market value on his next move.

Porro looks very solid but I’d love to get him a rest vs Liverpool as well…

Would also love to rest Bergvall before Liverpool.

Not an easy juggle at all.

I assume Ange plays Porro..... In turn, I'd trust Djed the most at LB. He's got pace and strength to match Mbuemo; plus the ability on the ball to put HIM on the backfoot.

No idea the front 6..... Who's fit enough etc.

Dippers game def. the most important to me and want us full(est) strength for that........ If anything goes too bad in the league we'll just have to chance our luck against Villa in the FA Cup.

Everton's next 2 in the league:

Leicester (H)
Liverpool (H)

Spurs:

Brentford (A)
Man U (H)

You'd predict 3 points for Everton; so long as we can match that then this won't worsen.
