Player Bryan Gil

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Honestly this kid pisses me off, he’s just a completely different person and player in Spain. The Prem can’t be THAT much more physical and intense than La Liga FFS. Don’t think he ever really liked or truly wanted to play for us, I get the same feeling from Lo Celso

The game is littered with players that failed to adjust to English football.

......Then there's the fact that he's of notably diminutive stature.

......And was transplanted at a young age.

There's no need to look beyond these things and tar him with the LoCelso brush (injury prone, lightweight attitude)......... Gil's a battler that never showed signs of not being committed.

he never got a fair crack here. he doesnt look any different from what ive seen. people didnt like him from the off here for whatever reason. the irony is the same people that thought he was lightweight and shit are probably the same ones that were slow to understand how shit winks is.

hes not really a winger either, he needs to be more central to get the best from him. not explosive enough to be out wide.

Nah, he tried hard here. No doubt he’s happier off the pitch in Spain but he played with full commitment here whenever he got a chance. He just isn‘t built for this league, it’s simply too easy for more powerful players to take the ball off him.

Size isn’t everything in the PL but you still need to be able to compete in duels and protect the ball. Modric, Cazorla, Hazard , etc were small but they had strong legs and could ride a challenge. Bryan is just a tiny little elf.

Brian just didn’t have the physicality to make his talent count in the prem, it’s ok, it happens. Never stopped trying though, bless him.

We saw it happen to Soldado who was way older and experienced.

We barely played him, and were in too desperate of positions most of the time to seriously consider giving him or many others serious minutes. I’m sure Brighton would have known what to do with a player like Bryan. Wasn’t a good kind of transfer for us where we are at now.

I always liked him. I don't get why he didn't like it here. How he didn't enjoy trips to Newcastle in the depths of winter, sat on the bench as thousands of Geordies in 'HOWAY!' t-shirts belched out Neanderthal nursery rhymes is beyond me.

I thought he was Luka reborn…
