Ex-Spurs Player Carlos Vinicius

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

First of all, have to say - I don't know anything about the guy. Some very uninformed feeling is not too owerwhelmingly happy. From the recent options, for some reason, I would have preferred Weghorst. Most likely cause he has played more consistently and in higher level. But we clearly DO need another striker, that is totally out of question!

If it is OPTION of buying not OBLIGATION to buy then it is fine - most likely we would pay the full price if he really is successful and useful for us, if not we can send him back or negotiate some other price.

Let's hope he'll do well!

I'm only aware of him from this...

“My name is Carlos Vinicius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true Emperor Marcus Aurelius, father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife – and I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.”

this geezer any good?

or are we looking at another cheap/last minute option who probably won't cut the required cheddar?

Not knocking our business in this window but this one has a familiar ring to it

black echo Thanks for posting. Great find.

I love the clip of Mourinho saying "Mr Abramovich, don't speak. Pay!" when he suggested the little known Drogba as his number one striker target. Fantastic stuff.

I've no idea if Carlos Vinicius will be a success or a flop in the EPL. From the clips though, and comments from our members who've watched him in Portugal, it's clear CV is more of a physical, aggressive, Drogba type of CF than a silky smooth Berbatov type.

It's clear Mourinho wanted CV, so he will get game time and opportunities. And at the very least I hope CV can be a disruptive presence up front, leading the press, and helping to win the ball high up the pitch. As well as helping us defend aerially from opposing set pieces.

And if Carlos Vinicius becomes even 75% of the player Drogba was, then he'll be a valuable addition to the squad.
There’s a similarity between Drogba, Costa and, Vinicius. They are all quite late bloomers. Drobga didn’t move to striker until his 20s, Costa didn’t do much until his breakthrough season at Atletico when he was 24ish. Vinicius is similar. Maybe Jose sees the same kind of hunger in him?

From what I see, his style resembles Benzema. Of course not as good (yet maybe), as pacy nor having as many tricks, but very promising if he continues to build on his break through season with Benfica. Benzema turned over a leaf under Mourinho at Real Madrid, so perhaps Mourinho can keeping this guy improving and be useful.

I agree.
Whilst there's a smell of corruption around many football transfers, I don't believe Mourinho wants to buy bad players.
He does play up to his image (eg those current TV ads), and he is always considering the impact of his actions.
But I get the sense the competitor in Mourinho wants to prove the doubters wrong. Indeed, he's driven by the raging desire to prove everyone who's called him a dinosaur wrong.
Crucially, not by abandoning his footballing philosophy. But by adapting it to his current squad and then winning as much as he possibly can.
Levy seems to be providing Mourinho with as many of the players to complete his "squad puzzle" as he can. Not all of them are the types of players I would have bought.
But there is zero point in hiring Mourinho and then targeting players he does not want. And there are encouraging signs that he is willing to change his mind about players he inherited - eg GLC and Ndombele.

So, how are we doing with flights tracking ?

There is absolutely no reason him and Kane can’t play in the same starting 11, this will be a HUGE signing, I have watched a fair bit of Vinicius and he really is a Jose striker through and through

dont be to excited you bought the LIGA NOS top goalscorer, marega was top scorer 3 years ago, and no one thinks he is a good striker lol

btw, just for the lolz, the first player jorge mendes sold, was Nuno from FCPorto to Coruña (yes Wolverhampton Coach llol)
