Ex-Spurs Player Christian Eriksen

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The art and poetry of curling one into the top corner from the edge of the 18 yard box?
That you just called whacking it at the goal.

While lauding the two yard tap to the goalscorer

It was a joke. Cooper is always bollocking me for using stats.

But, we were talking about Eriksen’s passing, not people curling it into the top corner.

I think you’ve hoisted yourself on your own wise-arse petard somewhat.

And some people cling to the past and hero worship certain players to the point of ridiculousness.
He hasn’t signed a contract, and will likely leave. Get over it.
You have no hope, optimism or faith in the club.....I couldn’t give a fuck who leaves at the end of the day, I’ll be singing his replacements name, not crying my eyes out over old YouTube clips.

Whatever we are going in circles here and obviously have very different views so I can't be arsed with this now. Just funny that you think you are ultra Spurs because you will sing the name of whoever comes in regardless of who it is. So would everyone else, that is not the point - but I bet my last fiver that you'd be the one crying about lack of progress and no desire if we do go backwards off the back of your blind optimism and sell-to-replace ideas.

Im out but.....but....but....and this....and this....and this.........

Are you in or out of the discussion? If you´re out leave the parting shots to one side eh, and dont be such a wet blanket, little hit n run tactics.

Ultra Spurs? Yeah I am, what are you, halfway Spurs?
You´d sing the name of his replacement, while thinking we´ve gone backwards and he´s nowhere near as good...
What you going to sing?

Eriksen sen sen
He was better than this cunt

Eriksen sen sen
Levy is a cunt

To the left to the right
down the table we slide

Now he plays in Lillywhite at
Reeeeaaalllll Maaadriiiiiiiiidd

So are you actually saying a pass can’t be wonderful unless the recipient scores from it?

You’re talking bollocks if so.
yeah - tell me what my definition of wonderful is then?

Come on - you claim to know everything, read my mind and tell me.

You can't, so it would be you that's talking bollocks.

Of course someone can play a great pass into space, but if the intended recipient didn't make the run, then its just a shit pass to no-one.
You can pass the ball to someone who anticipates the pass and stands on the ball (sissoko's favourite party piece when he arrived) or sticks it in row Z when a clear shot on goal was on
They might both be good passes - but a wonderful pass is one when the recipient scores with either opportunity
a pass can be great, - but the person who scores from it turns it into wonderful.

IMHO

Sometimes a good pass is just a good pass, regardless of what happens next.

IMO.

I just despair of you using them. You hide behind them and try to use them like a hammer.

No, I don’t. I use them to support my opinion.

It’s like me saying you just hide behind your opinion.

Stats are just actual things that happen on football pitches, measured, quantified and qualified.

If I say Eriksen is good and sammy says Eriksen isn’t, doesn’t it make sense to try and use quantified and qualified, neutral evidence to support my opinion?

They don’t tell a whole picture, but they add context to it, and unlike our eyes, they are neutral and unbiased.

It’s really not that complicated. My eyes tell me Eriksen is a very good footballer. They also tell me Sissoko isn’t. Low and behold, most stats back up those notions, but now you have my opinion and stats telling you, not just my opinion.

there are lies, damned lies and statistics

statistics in a realworld application can be used to determine and compute future behaviour and activity
your statistics don't and can't because they are oblivious to the human input that makes the game so great and so frustrating.

Your opinion isn't as wonderful as you think it is because you are the most biased of commentators I have seen in print - and your bias is rooted in your slavish adherence to your stupid love of statistics.

Far from supporting your opinion - your reliance on what you interpret your statistics are telling you, drives your opinions.

I have no problem in saying that Sissoko was pony when he started for us - but in games where he has played a major part in the team game plan, been a driving force in our attacks and a rock in defence, you have trotted out fucking half arsed statistics to prove that you are gullible chump.

When you post your analysis after games you ridicule yourself because all you are doing is highlighting who your current statistical failure is.

Just as much as Sissoko has a fucking awful game in him, so does Eriksen, and the reason that we failed to win at the weekend was that the pair of them were as ineffective as each other in taking the team forward.
The difference between you and me, is that I know why and you don't.

Bollocks

If Totti Totti can provide some statistic but I think he played in 90% of the games this season? He also played in World Cup, had a full season last season, guy might be out of gas really. Keep in mind he is often in top 3 players most covered ground in a match.

As good as gone, in my view.

He's never been this bad for us, ever. He's had performances before where he's been quiet, not really involved and sometimes goes through a patch but this is genuinely the worst I've seen him. I'd say it was a lazy performance, but I am sure the stats will come out and it'll show he ran more than every single one of our players but it was just like a training game for him, no conviction in his passing, just going through the motions.
