No
He can’t be bothered
He’s a professional sportsman
He should be giving his all for the club which pay his salary
For the fans who contribute to that salary
For his teammates who have helped make him what he is
And for his own personal pride
If not fuck off and shut the door after you’ve left
That didn’t really reply to my question.
I agree that, yes of course he should be acting professionally and giving his all for the club and fans that are paying his wages.
My question was whether we’d want to make use of a fully dedicated Eriksen even if we knew (or strongly suspected) that he’d leave on a free in the summer, or if we’d drop a useful and willing asset (which he obviously isn’t these days) in order to focus on life without him.
In other words, if Eriksen came out and said ‘yes I’m leaving on a free next Summer, but will play my heart out for Spurs until then’, would people prefer him playing or dropped.
It’s a purely hypothetical question.
Providing we had the players in our ranks to successfully attempt to do so (I believe we do), I'd rather we built towards the future, if not I wouldn't be averse to playing a fully committed and productive CE (much like i wasn't Modric).
It would be hypocritical to demand a certain kind of professionalism, only to inherently not trust a player to deliver it.

Ok
If Eriksen said something like that
about leaving on a free in the Summer then he shouldn’t ever wear our shirt again because I don’t believe that he would put the required effort in unlike Modric
Something for José to sort or a DOF
I’m in agreement. Fuck Eriksen.
But let’s say he did put in the required effort and was helping us, would you want him playing even if you knew he was off?
It’s not a trick question. I’m just interested in the responses. I knew Bale was off during his last season with us, but he was phenomenal. Then again, we missed out on CL anyway.
Eriksen is a wonderful player, but if he’s not interested in staying I’d prefer us to focus on the ones who are, no matter how useful he might be in the interim.

Mourinho reveals he's had another chat with Eriksen over future
The Portuguese manager disclosed that he left Eriksen, whose contract expires in June, out of his starting XI for Tottenham 's clash with West Ham because he remained uncertain over his mindset.www.dailymail.co.uk
'He's committed, loves the club and is one of us.'
I think he said one of us "until the last moment" ... in other words, he is off as soon as possible.![]()

Speaking of running his socks off. I do wonder if his dip in form is just from dead legs. It’s not like he’s been good for Denmark. Ozil usually had great matches for Germany despite being awful for Woolwich
Chris started almost every match for Poch and usually lead the team in distance covered.
Fans are taking his dip in form too personal. I don’t think he’s playing poorly on purpose. He has no reason to have anything but great memories here. I think the tank is on E and he has nothing left to give
Right. So what we need to know is how many sprints he clocks up!Have you ever actually watched Eriksen? That's not meant to sound patronising, what I mean is, have you ever been able to watch Eriksen and nothing else?
If you do get a chance, what you'll see is that he never stops jogging. And I use the word jogging very deliberately. He doesn't stand still, not for a second, but he's rarely moving more than say 5kph. If there's a break on he will speed up, but he just jogs around, miles away from the ball at a lazy pace racking up the kilometers. 10k in 90 minutes is very easy going for an under 30. Very. I do 10k in my lunch hour, I'm not an athlete, under 30 or even particularly fit.
If you were to compare his nearest rivals for distance covered in, say, average speed during runs, he would be behind. If you were to compare where that running was in relation to the ball, he would be further away from it. It's an insignificant stat when you see how it was attained.
question... have you not lost trust in the players that have 'downed tools', and they should be shown the door. Not only did they 'down tools' as protest over the manager, but their attitude also has had an impact on the 'club' ? Or, its not really a case of 'downed tools', they were getting stale and either the manger or themselves needed to be refreshed (and Poch blinked first)? (Saying that, not signing a contract is pretty telling!)get people like Eriksen and Toby excited and committed to Tottenham again then we can save ourselves a lot of money and focus our spending on adding quality not replacing it.
'I'm not going to tell you what we said. Just me and him – and Amazon,' Mourinho said on Monday.![]()
