Ex-Spurs Player Christian Eriksen

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Also, a few last minute winners are all well and good, but I still say he unbalances the team. Play an extra striker against wee teams, an extra tackling midfielder against the others and maybe proper wingers instead and we wouldn't have to rely on last minute goals against shite like Sunderland.
We don't have a second striker who actually scores as much as Eriksen though. We literally have no one on the team who passes as well, or shoots as accurately, and that dribble/head/dribble he did yesterday was pretty goddam magical.

We also played a proper winger yesterday, as I'm not sure if you've noticed, but Andros Townsend isn't an attacking midfielder placed out wide.

The only reason we didn't win 5-0 was the fact that Sunderland's keeper is 6'8" and reached stuff that no one else in the league could, and the referees didn't understand the off-side rule. If anything, the second striker weakened us by forcing Kane and Eriksen out of their best positions.

A fair point. And the shape of the team is as good as it gets just now.

I did notice we played a proper winger. Off the bench. And I'd suggest having one winger on the pitch is unbalanced.

Eriksen is a superb player. One of the top few number tens out there. Just not convinced he's a left winger or left attacker.

If everyone else is happy with spawny 2-1 wins against wee teams, when the other top few are handing out beltings, so be it. I just wish we were better.

I think most people would rather be smashing them, though a win is a win... I think it's just your suggestion of dropping Eriksen to try and achieve more convincing wins is what people don't agree with, at all.
I'd say you're spot on there!

One thing I certainly underestimated was how much ground he covers. Always thought he looked a bit lazy, which is quite obviously shite....

Yeah fair enough and I think part of that impression comes with reputation which can very easily colour a view. It's probably also because a lot of his hard work is things that go unnoticed, little runs that create space, closing down the space so they have one less passing option etc.

Though I'm not sure how he got the reputation because by all accounts he is an incredibly mature and hard working player as more quotes from that article suggest.
"He’s a very hard worker," says Vertonghen. "He’s in first (for training) and he’s on the pitch until the last minute."
Which is almost surprising because he's been incredible from a young age and he wouldn't have needed to work hard to make it at a top level. He clearly has the desire though to try and make himself into a legend and I think we're so lucky to have him.

Anyway I've gone off on a bit of a tangent so best leave it here!

Some days that would have been 5-1 or 6-1, so it's not quite representative.

I don't for a moment think Eriksen is a left-sided attacker, but I think Pochettino is trying to find something other than his Plan A, as he can't allow the minutes to keep piling up on bodies and then having injuries. The 4-4-2 with Soldado/Adebayor as a striker doesn't work, it's now clear, but we do need something other than a 4-2-3-1 with Chadli at LW, Kane as striker and Eriksen as God, because they can't play every game, sadly.

Id say having Soldado play in Kanes position for an hour was what unbalanced the team to be fair...

The only interesting part of that story, is that the journalist who appears to see himself as ITK, said that Eriksen had an offer from PSG when he transfered to us, but declined because he had already said yes to Levy.

To think that Levy would let him go for £20m is a joke though.
