Ex-Spurs Player Christian Eriksen

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He's young dammit!

He's been no more inconsistent for us than vdv was. Difference is, he's got about 10 years left in his career and can be trusted to last the full 90.
Evidently he's expected to score a hat-trick every game and perform at a MotM-like level throughout

Apparently he's also covered the most distance out of everyone in 16 of our 22 PL games so far. Hey ho.

What's the point of you using the board then? I guess you think this is 'sticking it to the man' some how, but we all know Case or whoever doesn't care so it's pretty pointless.

I certainly had a period of time earlier this season that I was getting worried about the overall value of Chris. I'm happy to eat my words. He's shown that he has made improvements over last season and even within this season he has seemed to come to grips with what Poch is asking of him. I still think that in many ways he's more valuable sitting behind a striker than out wide (his run against Chelsea to create space for Kane's first goal comes to mind), but he's one of those people that a team is just flat out better with just by having him on the pitch.

I thought he was dog shit awful v Sheff Utd. Appalling touch, decisions and dead ball delivery.
He wasn't at his best, no - yet still played the ball to Ade to create our best chance of the game. Ade should've scored, he spunked it over the bar.

That's the thing with quality players, they can be gash for 89 minutes and win you the game.

You won't find Paulinho or Capoue being shit for 90 minutes but deciding the result.

The lad is class. Not incapable of being criticised, but we have a real gem on our hands, and the team should be built around players like Eriksen. I don't know who else we could attract in world football that is better than him.

Don't you get it - he's never allowed to have a poor game. Ever. GOATing all the way or fuck off to the Championship

From what I can see we have conceded 1 goal from a corner this season in all competitions, 36 games. That was West Brom back in Sept. we have conceded over 200 corners and have let just 1 in.

As I say, complete myth about corners and goals, rarely happens.

...you do realize I was praising Poch for what he's done to improve Spurs' defending on set-pieces, right?

I don't think it's any secret that in the past, Spurs have been a bit weak in defending set-pieces.
I enjoy the fact that Poch is a good coach who has managed to smooth over that part of Spurs' game.
Despite your initial misinterpretation of what I was saying, I do appreciate those stats as they back up my point.

Agree with this.

He is class, but he's class 50% of the time, and still a bit average the rest. Thats my observation of him, and am looking forward to his development.

I think he can be world class in a few years.

Some people see his potential and attributes, and thats enough to let it slide for his poor games for them.
Personally, I dont see the point in that, or the controversy of saying "Eriksen was poor today".

Like you say he's not incapable of being criticised (to some of us anyway)

A few people can see he's not the finished article, but there is a lot of hype in the media about him and his stats.

There has been many a game as you say where he has been average for the most, yet popped up with a winner or a couple of assists.

I thought he was dog shit awful v Sheff Utd. Appalling touch, decisions and dead ball delivery.

I mentioned it before, that he doesnt have the fight for that kind of game and needs to beef up a bit and move the ball that bit quicker. I thought he was very good against Sunderland though.

Thats what I meant when I said he still blows hot and cold, and people got upset.

When he plays well, its overdrive with praise and you hear all the "please dont take him Real Madrid....", yet when he is the worst player on the pitch against a Division 3 team, its just silent.

People get upset when you post regardless of what the post contains on this forum. Same thing happens when you mention Sherwood or Ade. No one ever actually has a rebuttal though.

I agree, Eriksen hasnt looked consistently good for a long long time. Still a top class player imo.
