Madueke moved to Netherlands too early to count as CT or HG.

Edwards would count as CT.

I quite like CCV as a CB, although I wouldn't describe him as having the speed Ange seems to like - but he did well at Celtic under Ange seeming to be a massive leader and defender, so think he'd be an inspired choice but is naturally right footed although think he has played LCB before. Still only 26.

Dennis Cirkin (LB/LCB) would be another option and is CT - but has missed a lot of games for Sunderland this season with a hamstring, so would need a thorough medical. Thought to have a £6m buy back expiring this June.

Luis Binks (LCB) would be CT, but hasn't been as standout as I expected since he left in 2000 - currently on loan at Coventry - had fantastic Alderweireld long passing ability.

There's actually a few CT players, probably good enough to be squad players atm - for example Milos Veljkovic who has made over 200 appearances for Werder Bremer. Plays CB at club, DM for Serbia.

I'd hope our scouts have looked at all of them.
Miloš Veljković is CT and is decent. Probably better than binks and cheap than ccv

Yeah looked really good in the games I've seen him play for Sunderland and was very promising for the academy but just seems to get every sort of injury now. Missed games for ankle injuries, concussion, hernia operation etc. in previous seasons and this year he's had hamstring problems so he only started a handful of games and has had to have hamstring surgery (similar to Sess) and been out for months. I think they want to keep him so could pretend we were going to activate it and then use that in a deal to sign Chris Rigg.

He gonna replace Foerster as our GK2? Or is this scraping the bottom of the barrel to make the home grown numbers?
Makes sense to have him and Forster switch roles. Forster is 36 and coming off of a broken foot. So letting Brandon formally take over the number 2 position in goal for now and letting Frase helm the role of team dad for the final year of his contract makes sense.

We've got quite a list of potential Club Trained players coming through over the next few years - not all are going to make it, in fact only a hand full might which is a shame, but we could have a few to almost salivate over

GK - Gunter
CB - Dorrington (Phillips unlikely to be Club Trained if he has more loans).
FB- Black (RB), Abbott (RB/DM)
CM - Hall
No 10 - Devine, Donley
LW - Santiago, Moore
Striker - Scarlett, Lankshear

Its possible that Bergvall and Vuskovic may be able to squeeze in the '3 years before 21 playing at Spurs excluding loans away' rule to become Club trained : we will need to see.

Hopefully we can get back to a stage where we have 4 quality Club trained players within a couple of years to give ourselves the opportunity of a full squad and better opportunity to compete.

Lots will depend on Ange as manager and judicious use of loans to develop the players though

Phillips can become club trained even if he gets loaned out again. The only thing loaning him out again will stop is him qualifying for is List B for the 2026-27 season.

Not sure of that.

Ashley Phillips - born June 2005, so becomes 21 in June 2026.

2023/4 - played at Spurs for 6 months, loaned out for 6 months
2024/25
2025/26 - Becomes 21 at end of that season.

So I think it might be difficult to fit the necessary '3 entire seasons' in before age 21 to be Club trained if loaned out again

A "club-trained player" is a player who, between the age of 15 (or the start of the season during which he turns 15) and 21 (or the end of the season during which he turns 21), and irrespective of his nationality and age, has been registered with his current club for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons (i.e. a period starting with the first official match of the relevant national championship and ending with the last official match of that relevant national championship) or of 36 months. In the context of this paragraph, the season immediately preceding a player’s 15th birthday may be counted if his birthday is after the last match of the relevant national championship but before or on 30 June (winter championships) or 31 December (summer championships), and the season immediately following his 21st birthday may be counted if his birthday is on or after 1 July (winter championships) or 1 January (summer championships) but before the first match of the relevant national championship.

"registered with his current club" is the important bit you're mixing up. He's still registered with Spurs when he's loaned out.

That came up with John Bostock many years ago and Spurs said time spent on loan with other clubs did not count - loanees need to be registered at their loan club to play, and you can't be registered at two clubs at same time. Woolwich managed to register Saliba as an u21 in PL whilst playing elsewhere.

A loan is a 'temporary transfer of a players registration' under PL rules which may also be relevant as UEFA say the players must be properly registered with association to which club belongs

So maybe the rules, or their interpretation, have changed over time.

Yeah possibly has changed, can't really remember the rules back then

Robson did not travel to Japan so his glimmer of hope of being named as CT for EL this season has been snuffed out. Parrott gone so we have only 3 CT players:
Whiteman, Austin and Skipp.

It will be interesting to see if Lankshear is kept with the club this year as he will qualify as club trained for UEFA competitions if he does.

Similarly, Bergvall and Gray can both become club trained if they stay with us every season until they are 21.

Question marks over Ash Phillips being club trained due to age (and him beng loaned out last season). Also, I think that Pape-Mate Sarr could have qualified as club trained if we had not loaned him out, and instead will now be a NHG player.

With Devine, Donley, Dorrington, Hall, Moore, Scarlett etc. all counting as U21 in league and B-List in UEFA for now, but will be club trained should they stay with us long term, the squad limitations are not really a problem any more.
