Tbh i think signing both isak and etikite might have caused a problem for salah. I dont think they needed two strikers. One would have done. Let them keep going on and on and on about it though imploding.
As I mentioned at the time, there was not squad planning. It was a window reminiscent of Baldini spending the Bale money. They needed to refresh and replace the likes of TAA, VVD, and Salah. Instead, they just bought a load of form players
Etikite looks class, dropping that much money on Isak after seems like it was driven more by pride than necessity
Yeah those whole situation was very odd.
I suppose if you look at the squad and how the season has gone, they have really needed 2 strikers having lost both Nunez and Jota, but dropping 200m on one position was reckless given their other squad issues.
They wouldv'e been better off getting one of Isak/Ekitike + a cheaper backup/rotation, then spending another 50m odd on a CB like Guehi.
Also, by signing Ekitike they basically robbed Newcastle of the obvious Isak replacement on the market. I wouldn't be surprised if that alone made the Isak deal much harder, more expensive (and take longer) to pull off. As it turns out Woltemade looks great, but he was way more of a risky punt than Ekitike would've been for Newcastle.

Growing up in Ireland the dippers were the most hated team by everyone who were not supporting them. Scum, utd, chelski, spurs all united in the hatred. Scums recent resurgence has brought them up rwcently on the hatred level but it takes a game like Sat to show what a bunch of entitled whiny cunts they are backed by media pundits and officials.
Only they could have every decision go there way and still whine about not enough people sent off and hijack the narrative.
