The only thing that we can hope for now is that Sevilla beats them so badly, that being so close and losing is so much more painful for them.
Yep. I know it's gonna sound horribly petty, and we should just be happy with our lot, but I couldn't fucking stand it if they won the Europa League.

At the start of the season, that was (I assumed) the best thing we could hope to achieve - and it was a dick punch that we didn't even go for it against Dortmund... Albeit one I could understand given the circumstances.

But I am fucking furious at Dortmund for throwing that match away against Liverpool (WHERE THE WINNING GOAL WAS SCORED BY A GODDAMN DRUGS CHEAT) and if they get Champions League and a European cup in Klopp's first year I will scream.

I live in Leicester. There will probably be an open top bus parade on the same day as an exam I'm taking near the route. Life is already fucking horrible right now - I can't take this on top of it.

They need to lose the final to Sevilla.

Otherwise, honestly, I'd rather have had their season than ours.

Klopp is definitely improving them, and more than United, Chelsea or even City, I think they will do well next season. The difference between us and them, would be they would have won a trophy and we'd have simply got second, which is basically jackshit and worth nothing.

They will compete with us for players, make no mistake. There really isn't anything to defend us against them, sure they will barely scrape 7th or whatever it is, but all places not 1st are the same.

Come on Sevilla.

Would you rather Poch or Klopp?

Interesting analysis.

I get what you are saying but think we are a notch ahead of Liverpool because I am confident that in the summer we will buy the striker options that Liverpool have benefited from.

I also think that Eriksen despite some good performances could have had a more consistent and fruitful season.

Put it this way I see us and Liverpool as being 2 of 5 teams who can win the Premier next season and do not include Woolwich in that if Wenger stays.

In terms of league positions and trophies, I'd take their season as well (if they win). But in terms of squad development and what that means in terms of the potential in coming seasons, no way I'd take their season. And the latter counts way, way more to me.

Not 100% accurate - but close enough for shits and giggles

IF Liverpool win the Europa then that will be a very good season for them as qualifying for the CL means they can compete in the market with the other CL qualifiers. But they haven't won it yet.

Even if they do, I am very very happy with our season, I wouldn't trade it personally, as we haven't just found a way into the CL, we have competed for the title and it doesn't look like it will be a fluke. So I won't care if they win it, except that not qualifying for the CL will slow Liverpool's development, so it is preferable.

Much as I find them loathsome, if they do win the Europa that does help the English club's coefficients and helps the prem justify the 4 CL places for a few more seasons to come. I wouldn't be saying that if it were Woolwich but if it's them, it's not such a terrible silver lining.
