Tbh it's mostly pundits and outsiders saying it's Jota's death impacting Liverpool. Other than Robertson bringing it up after qualifying for the WC (specifically in relation to Jota wanting to play in the world cup) have any players been bringing it up regularly? I certainly don't think any of them are using it as an excuse or they're a 'bunch of overly emotional pussies' and Slot himself openly said they'd never use his death as an excuse. So yeah I think you're being a bit of a cunt.

In reality, I reckon it's one of many factors. Probably had some impact on the dressing room dynamic - if you lose a big, beloved character it can impact the overall atmosphere of the dressing room which is probably more important than fans think. Tbh if anything I reckon they're more being impacted by his loss as a player. He was a great goalscorer for them and selling Diaz in the same summer has meant they've had loads of upheaval up top with a lack of replacement goals from Wirtz and Isak so far.

However, what I will say is consistency is the sign of a great manager. As Pep has shown, and unfortunately, Arteta is also showing by consistently having Woolwich up there challenging.

And if Liverpool fall away this season, it will probably show Slot is a good manager, but not a great one. Or great but not elite.

Their form, for the team they have and the money they spent is horrendous.

It's great to see though. They've been far too good a team the last decade. Practically unbeatable at Anfield especially in Europe.

Tbh, their squad is still pretty bloody strong. If they get the right manager in or Slot can fix their defensive frailties, they'll be back up there before long. I think it's easy to say they've spent poorly right now, but it's still waaaay too early to judge a lot of these signings. Isak didn't turn into a turkey overnight, Ekiteke is one of the best young strikers in Europe and the jury's still out on Wirtz - he might be a colossal flop but we've seen how players like Modric took a while to adjust to the PL.

I think they might've gone wrong with the full-backs, though. Kerkez looks very iffy (although still a kid) and Frimpong is basically a teeny-tiny winger, which is a big dodgy when half the teams in the league are playing massive CBs at full-back.

For me the main issue is how they've prioritised the spending. They didn't properly replace Diaz with a dribbly wide player and they massively lack depth at CB. Spending a combined 200m on 2 strikers when they had holes to fill elsewhere does seem utterly insane in hindsight, but in reality, if they sign another 2-3 good players they'll look very strong again.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if this is a bit like City's terrible run last season and next season they're comfortably back around the top 3/4 (although I expect they'll be behind Arse, City and maybe Chelsea in the pecking order for a while).

I know it's always been like this but it does seem to be getting worse, and it's crazy now how quickly fans call for a sacking.

Even winning the PL title doesn't seem to buy you any credit with fans nowadays. You would have thought they would maybe give him a bit more time, but I am seeing normally "sensible" Liverpool fans calling for Slot to be sacked, calling it irreperable.

The thing is, it's almost impossible for football teams to just keep winning, this is their first really bad spell for quite a few years and it's long overdue.

You also wonder now if Guehi goes there in January, or takes his pick out of what will be a large number of suitors.

Parish may seek to force the sale but Guehi may sit tight and who could blame him.

There's a whole heap of things wrong there right now. The Jota tragedy will have had some effect no doubt, but they were toughing games out earlier and winning ugly as it were.

I keep reading btl from LFC STs etc that they can't understand why he's playing guys out of position. That never works well.

They also say he's ducking the Salah issue. He's not worth his place in the team this season. TTA looks like more of a miss than they'd expected. VVD is getting old. That handball was hilarious, as was his idiotic arguing.

It's a bit like Maureens CFC when they booted him. A load of things happening all at once. PL is fine margins, very easy to see how things can suddenly goes tits up.

Their form at present is good to see.

On Salah, maybe, but only he could have pushed the argument to say he did even better than Son did for us.

Immense signing, and very much like Son, a surprise at how he was/has been.
 
Also, it's crazy to think but look how many points Liverpool have won already this season from last minute winners, If it wasn't for those late goals they would be in an even worse position.

Pretty sure the majority of their points this season have been from late winners. It could so easily have been so so much worse.

Yeah I just watched a PSV player run past him on the highlights, like he wasnt even there and all Salah did was shrug his shoulders and give up.

I think he'd do himself a lot of favours if he drops him, the problem is if Liverpool keep losing he will look even more of a fool, its probably too late now anyway.

Not many of these players are playing for him either...
