That is the stodgiest, negative, devoid of creativity midfield in the upper echelons of world football, hands down. Every man and their dog can see there will be a huge gap between their MF and attack with Gyokeres not the type to drop deep. How do you spend such an unfathomable amount of money to build such a workmanlike team?

They've given Arteta nearly £1bn to spend and their entire team still hinges entirely on Odegaard for any modicum of attacking cohesiveness. Play 2 DMs and a defensive-minded 8 and rely on Trossard and Madueke to do all the work for Gyokeres who is utterly woeful in build-up play.
I will be amazed if he makes it into another new season as their manager and won't particularly mind at all, legohead has all the makings of a perennial bridesmaid.

It’s the way he wants it. He made his bed

Last 3 windows ... Raya, Rice, Havertz, Calafiori, Zubimendi, Merino, Eze, Madueke, Gyokeres, Hincapie plus a few others not as flashy.
If they don't win it this year they should shut the whole club down.

For all the talk.. For the all the quality they have in depth.. For all the build up about how only a win will do..

They get an equaliser, at home, with a whole 5 minutes to go against a team that had gone all in on seeing out the game. And look at the celebrations. Complete pandemonium from the players, the fans and the coaches.. No thought whatsoever about getting the ball back to the centre circle. It's a small time mentality from such a good squad on paper.

It's the reason why they go out to PSG in the Champions League.. But still say "Yeah, but we pushed them all the way didn't we?".., Even though they didn't and spent the build up to that tie telling the world that they're the big favourites.

Havertz, Calafiori, Zubimendi, Merino, Madueke Gyokeres. "Decent" players but not title winning players. They could have bought far better than that with the money they spent.
Gyokeres I just flat out don't rate.

Title winning players are players like Isak. The closest the goons got was Rice imo that was the only recent signing they made that really wowed me.

I was thinking the same. Go for it. If you are serious about winning the league, dont celebrate a draw at home against a relative weak City team.

Last season they had the whole Ødeagaard and the camera man episode and the psg staff saying they were the better team. As you say, its small team mentality.

Am I alone in thinking that had Spurs actually signed Eze he would have definitely assisted the own goal near miss today that Rice managed to put over the bar; saving Woolwich from going 0-2 down?

:gallashmm:

They are such jammy fuckers when it matters most.
