I would have done Japanese if it had been an option. What language do folks in the UK usually take in school? French?
Americans, soccer-loving ones especially, are mostly exposed to enough Spanish to get the gist, I would guess.

Think as well real madrid in late 90s they were massively in debt and govt paid shitloads for their training centre. Bailed them out. Dodgy imo. With them now seemingly getting Alexander-Arnold it's reminded me of my opinion that Real's successes over the years really should have large asterisks next to them.
I mean look at all the huge advantages they've had over their history:
1) Them being Franco's team for decades when he was in power and him doing everything possible to keep them on top.
2) Having basically no need to develop any players as they can just cherry pick pretty much any of the best ones around, which they've been doing basically since Di Stefano & Puskas.
3) Having UEFA & FIFA in their pocket.
4) Having the European Cup/Champions League pretty much created for them.
For crying out loud, any club could massively succeed with all that, no disrespect to Ancelotti, but managing Real Madrid is like playing Football Manager with cheats on.

I guess they don’t have a let’s laugh at Spurs thread on their forum.
I like this model they have now of just tapping up established players and getting them to run down their contracts so they can sign them for free. Very efficient. With them now seemingly getting Alexander-Arnold it's reminded me of my opinion that Real's successes over the years really should have large asterisks next to them.

I'm surprised they haven't sued us for playing in white...

Save the cash to buy up the world’s best young players instead and get the superstars for free.
Other clubs should be doing this but not all have the allure of Madrid.
Tax fraud is more or less a tradition in Spanish football. It will be a suspended prison sentence and a decent fine.Well, Spurs had a DoF, Paratici, working for them while being suspended due to fraud, so why not appoint a jailed head-coach as well. Real M. would not demand any compensation fee and Ancelotti would most probably work on a discounted salary![]()
But Real M. always have the 12th man, the ref, on their side when in need...From what I've seen this season, I still think Barcelona are the better team. Real Madrid rely on individual moments to win games far more.
