Not to defend Roman or anything, but it does seem out of balance given the blind eye they've turned to the City owners who are directly guilty of a lot more than being associated and financially entangled with Putin. Roman/Chelea deserve this, but so do City. And if you're not going address the evil cunts in Manchester, it seems virtue signally to go in so hard at Chelsea.

I think its more symptomatic of the fact that we, in the west, want to make a show of being tough with Russia over the invasion but we don't actually want to go to war over this and in the end Ukraine is going to be absorbed by Russia and we just don't want to look like pricks that didn't care about it happening. But when the rubber meets the road, we just don't actually care to the point that we're moved to action.

I'm in 2 minds about the whole thing, mind you. But I feel this is more a product of making a show rather than actual attempt to effect change.

I think its more symptomatic of the fact that we, in the west, want to make a show of being tough with Russia over the invasion but we don't actually want to go to war over this and in the end Ukraine is going to be absorbed by Russia and we just don't want to look like pricks that didn't care about it happening. I hope that you're right, but I really fear that it won't be. I think Putin's bet, that the hard times will rally the Russian people behind the flag against the old foe, is likely a good one. And they'll stay the course and that will be that. Ukraine will cease to exist and our governments will just try to forget it happened and big up the yachts they seized as if it had any effect.

Neither here nor there, at the moment, as its celebration day for now.
