Such a shock to see Cole Palmer missing today against the Arse....

Even MORE shocking to hear post-match that he should be fit for their next league game (I don't even have to post the fixture list, do I...?)

But not as surprising to hear he won't be playing any part for England during the International break...

Hasn’t scored for about 8 games

JAMIE CARRAGHER and Paul Scholes have urged Cole Palmer to leave Chelsea.

The pundits were appearing on The Overlap Fan Debate, where they agreed that Palmer, 22, has outgrown the Blues.

Carragher also compared Palmer's struggles to Steven Gerrard's early years at Liverpool, when the Reds couldn't match their talisman's ambitions.

Carragher said: "He played two great passes early on [against Brighton], but as the game went on, you could see his frustration.

"It reminded me of Stevie at Liverpool because he was so much better than everyone else."

Palmer, who has a contract at Stamford Bridge until 2033, has scored 39 goals and registered 21 assists in 78 appearances for the West London giants.

However, there are concerns about Chelsea's lack of competitive edge following a poor display against rivals Woolwich over the weekend.

Citing his long-term deal, Carragher added: "If he should be playing for a team looking to win the Champions League, how does he get out?"

Meanwhile, Man Utd legend Paul Scholes was in full agreement with Carragher over Palmer's plight.

He agreed the attacking midfielder needs a bigger challenge.

"He knows he’ll play every week and be the best player. I don’t get the impression they are desperate to win anything."

Palmer missed the game at the weekend against Woolwich with an injury.

His manager Enzo Maresca said: "He needs a scan, it is planned for Monday morning. It’s a muscle problem.

"Probably in Cole’s case it will give him some rest physically and mentally. It could be good."

Palmer was unable to link up up with the England squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia.

Let me guess which clubs they believe he should move to…

Fcuk Palmer.

Who pressed the gun to his head to sign the lengthy contract?

Bloke has had one good season. No comparison at this stage to Gerrard.

Bet we make him look like Messi.

You just know that Madueke. Palmer and Jackson will all be back against us, and that somehow out of the nonsensically timed international break, we will have lost players to injury.

That much doesn't need the foresight of Nostradamus.

A nice game to ease them in, against wide open Dr T.

He’s in a tough patch but he’s on 20 goals and assists for the league season already. And he should have a lot more assists, his creative numbers are great. Chelsea just have very not clinical attackers.

So that ‘one good season’ is definitely turning in to two seasons of being one of the most productive players and the star for Chelsea..
