Respect to fans of teams that are regularly having such god awful seasons in the Premier League. I have to confess I completely lost interest in the season after our umpteenth hammering. Bit ashamed of myself really.
Its an interesting point you bring up. After the last 2.5 years (EL win notwithstanding), I have to say if I were a supporter of a club serially at the bottom of the table I would ve welcoming the drop. Into the championship where the tables turn and you're one of the big clubs that regularly wins.

Losing so often, and looking out of your depth doing it, is exceedingly miserable.

I've said before that it will be the curse of someone like Wrexham.

It's a lot of fun and a real dopamine hit getting underdog promotion after promotion, and narrowly missing out on the play-offs to the PL after what? 3 or 4 seasons back in the football league.

However, if Wrexham became a club scraping by Burnley style, yo-yoing, then it could still have a thrill to it. The next step? Floating around the lower end of the table like Burnley became under Dyche, or like West Ham have been. There's nothing left to enjoy, really, when you're winning less than 12 games out of 38 and are used to being in the league - perhaps even under the delusion that you deserve more.

Coming 1st or 2nd in the league is a season full of goals, wins, and optimism. Trophy lifts, confetti etc. Going into the summer with a buzz of optimism. Doesn't matter what league you're in, it's arguably a better feeling than finishing bottom half.

If you looked on social media before the game it was all a love in between Leeds and west ham fans saying they wanted to roll over for them to send them down. Glad the real fans were proper!

Walking through Liverpool street before the game the west ham fans seemed a lot more cocky and confident than our lot, which seemed strange considering the odds, but I think that's just how they are

Imagine how they would be if they had stayed up.

Same here. Of course West Ham wanted us down, they were fighting with us. But all the Newcastle, Everton, Palace fans I have seen cheering against us can fuck off. I can’t wait until we are back and they are back to their bottom table existence.
Newcastle have helped us massively twice now, we owe that club big time. Really weird why Leeds, Everton and Palace fans dislike us so much that they were actively wanting us to go down. Disappointed in Sunderland as well, because I always had a soft spot for them. Villa fans are the only ones we played that couldn't care less about the relegation battle.

It's not weird, it means we're a big club.

It's not that weird, pretty much all fans wanted to see us go down. I don't know why you'd be disappointed.

And we don't owe Newcastle shit.
