Their turnover dropped by £40M vs prior year, £225M. Without the TV money which is probably half of that, they are gonna have to slash costs. Double relegation far more likely than swift return

The quality in that league is pretty gash, even selling their 5 of their best players they would still have one of the best squads in that league. The Leicester situation is a fair compare but that was a total meltdown across the board, could happen to West Ham but I think very unlikely. The way Leicester with an above average squad relative to others disintegrated should be studied.

Let's hope we can all come to this thread tuesday evening and stick the knives in...

Levy owns about 25% of Spurs , not the majority by some way admittedly. I guess this summer if we stay up will be the ultimate test of ENIC’s commitment. I am expecting to be disappointed yet again

There's a serious asterisk next to that "ownership", hence why he was unceremonially pushed out.

If this season hasn't been a peek behind the curtain, I don't know what more is required

They are royally fucked... don't have a massive squad but they have players on big wages who will have to go. That stadium will be half empty every week (even on a good day). More likely they stay rooted for a stretch or flirt with relegation to League 1.

As much as I dislike them, if they do go down, I have no doubt they will bounce straight back up , it might even make the current owners sell up , a season in the Championship, winning games and then coming up with new owners, hang on a minute that don't sound to bad does it.........

In terms of club size and investment I don’t think that is to wide of the mark

United, Woolwich, Liverpool, Chelsea, City, us, Villa, Everton, Newcastle all bigger with Palace about the same size but they are a bigger club than Brighton or Bournemouth. But in modern football how well you are run is more important than simply money or history. The TV deal means everyone gets big revenue just by being in the prem and thus competent leadership is the key.

Their owners are worse than ours and that is saying something.
If they do go down then it’s their 6th relegation in 48 years - I think 8th to 12th is wide of the mark

Unlike us, although didn't they lose one of their players to injury yesterday, West Ham have had a nearly full strength squad all season.

It ain't done yet, although they are under savage pressure, and have minimal control on their destiny, but I think like us, it only works if the team are absolutely on it.

Much as Bowen (best player), and Summerville (still needs much more in my opinion) are good, they don't have a really big stand-out player.

Like us however, how they are on the precipice, is hard to understand. They spend money. No question at all.

For now however, our need is greater than theirs.

If they drop they will be down there for a while - the previous 2 times they came back was via the playoffs, they’ve never dominated down in that league.

Their financial situation is dire and they don’t own their ground. Their best players are gone and what remains is rubbish to be honest.

Furthermore, Wrexham and Birmingham are money clubs down there now, Burnley will basically stay the same with a squad tailor made for the Champ and the likes of Boro or Southampton will be competitive as well.

Hopefully we get the job done and don’t have to hear from them for a decade or so

Also unlikely Sullivan sells whilst it’s a distressed asset an no one I paying over the top for a club without their own ground, in the Champ, best players sold.

So important we finish this job off and flush these lot for a decade. Get rid of a team that hates us replace with a side that doesn’t give a shit about us either way.
