Player Conor Gallagher

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Was a real talent at palace, Poch loved him for the chavs … lost track of him at atletico but he was always a good player and better than anything we had

Solid upgrade

If we could do this for a few other positions we might win more football matches

I think it's debateable tbh whether (say) Gallagher or Semenyo (top class LWer) would have had a bigger impact.

Gallagher is in the engine room and is raising standards.

He is much, much better than our other 8s overall

Id say Semenyo all day long

Would mean Xavi can play more centrally, would stretch teams, offer a genuine goal threat and creativity (in addition to Xavi)

Which isnt to say Gallagher isnt offering improvement, just that its less so than a Semenyo type addition.

I think next season, when we've got a new manager ( 🙏 ) Gallagher will be one of those players to absolutely shine - this really isnt a case of me trying to talk him down or anything like that - its really just about the needs of the team at this point

I've only watched him play in a couple of games but his arrival has coincided with an uptick in performance levels from Archie Gray, Wilson Odebert and Xavi Simons.
it always has been and always will be important to have certain characters at the club. gallagher is a great role model for the younger guys.

youre right, he might not of been what we needed on paper, but if hes getting a few extra % out of others around him and hes leading the younger players down a better path, then he is exactly what we needed.

weve lacked genuine leaders for a long, long time.

Think the big concern around Iraola is somewhat similar to Ange. His teams run really hard and get quite a lot of injuries...and that's when they're not even in Europe or going deep in cups.

Also question marks around whether the whole chaos ball approach would scale up to a bigger club or if, by it's very nature, it's suited to more mid-table type teams that don't come up against settled defences and have to break teams down.

Think he might be a fun appointment but certainly some big question marks there.

That’s not actually true. If you look into it they don’t get that many at all, they hover around the PL average to doing pretty well on the injury front. Think I posted the stats on here last year.

I'd have wanted Semenyo too, but if we just change to 3-4-3, we magically solve all our problems.

Spurs entering Summer '26:
Formation: 3-4-3

ST: Solanke, Richarlison
RW: Odobert, Kudus
LW: Simons, Tel
CM: Gallagher, Bergvall, Gray, Bentancur, Sarr, Bissouma
RB: Spence, Porro
LW: Udogie, DeSouza
RCB: Romero, Dragusin
CCB: Vuskovic
LCB: Van de Ven, Danso
GK: Vicario, Kinsky

Shocking squad.

I dunno- I'm fine with most of it. I'm even fine with Tel as our #2 ST over Richy. Sell Richy and buy a premium LW and we could switch between 3-4-3 and 4-2-3-1 quite easily.
Absolutely not a dig at you, my good man...but the fact you're good with that squad shows how much ENIC have brainwashed the fanbase and lowered the standards.

That's a West Ham/Everton/Fulham/Palace level squad, not Tottenham Hotspur aka the 9th wealthiest club in the world.

Kulu and Madisson want a word....

:kulushock::maddisonhmm:

He takes a lot flak for not being the type of player some demanded we should have brought in so it's very easy to criticise him post match early doors.

I'm fairly confident he will continue to contribute and become a useful acquisition in the future.
