Match Coventry City v Tottenham Hotspur | Carabao Cup 3rd Round | Sept 18th | 8pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I said this a while back and the credulous got all arsey. I feel that some of the players see the holes in what they are being asked to do. They are not playing for him. He has made some odd inexplicably decisions that smack of brain fog, fear, and illogic. Divine last min loan Spence's ommission when I think both could seriously contribute. Forester retention extension of Austin but no game time. Dragusin, the frankly embarrassing 'I win second season ' stuff. He is in way over his head. He looks far more clueless than Nuno. I feel sick for us, and a bit for him. I hope Ryan Mason grows a pair and turns it down.

So do i!

Ewwww gross!

Woolwich never looked this bad under Arteta at all, and defintely not a year in. People keep going on about Arteta and Woolwich like that is the blue print to follow when we have someone so out of his depth in Ange.
Totally nailed it on this post, and really - you can't use one manager who struggled at first and then went on to success to justify any manager who's taking on water. Sure a few of them turn it around, but most who are still sinking 18 months in do not and there's no sign things are improving with us.

So many angry, bitter posters on here using this win to somehow attack posters who have reservations about our manager.

Just chill the fuck out, relax and enjoy our great escape like the rest of us for fuck sake

Fuck off you self righteous twat!

You spend every single moment on here attacking the club whenever you see the opportunity.

If we had lost tonight, you'd have spouted crap non-stop for hours and hours.

We were shit today but we snuck it.

We've been good in games and lost.

It's football.

I can't stop you posting what you post, as it should be, but don't be a hypocrite and police how others post.

First off, fair play to traveling fans. Could hear them pushing the team on throughout.

Most annoying thing for me? Announcer here for Paramount+ kept calling Kulu - Kuluksekski, or some variation. Dude's name is tough enough without adding syllables.

Awful performance, but encouraged we found a way to get it done. Need to get this sorted out, and quick because that was awful. There's plenty negative to dissect, but let's start with positives:
The goals-both were set up beautifully. The winner on the turnover in midfield, and Bentancur placed it in front of Johnson who finished it beautifully. The first was just as nice with Spence finishing that beauty by Kulu. Speaking of....

Kulusevski was brilliant again. I get his shortfalls as a player, but the signs have always been there of how valuable he is to us. He never, ever stops. Undroppable right now.
Johnson was aggressive for much of the game. I still don't know what he sees half of the time when he's crossing, but the guy gets so much flack, but has produced.
Davies was very good for long stretches, but his shortcomings were also very clear. His lack of pace (along with Radu's being less) was a problem for us as they continued the balls of the top.
Dragusin was relatively steady, but I was worried to see him pushed around by a couple of the Coventry attackers, especially late when we were chasing.
Gray was steady throughout, and I had no issue with him at any point.
Solanke works hard, presses well, but wasn't great with the ball today and had zero service.
Bergvall also had some pros an cons. He looked lively on the ball, but often tried to do too much with a pass. Turned the ball over quite a bit.
Bentancur was fine for the most part, and his hard work won us the ball back in the key moment.
Sarr had stretches where he wasn't good, followed by stretches where he was calm and looked great, followed by more stretches where he didn't look good.
Son - did he do anything when on the field?

Werner works hard-but he was horrific today. I do not have any idea how on earth he could have lasted that long on the field, other than it has been planned, or a part of the loan agreement to get him the time.
Forster should not play again.

I think Ange is very fortunate today that we won, because after Sunday a loss today would have put him in a rough spot. That being said, we need to see a huge display Sunday to bounce back. Weird to say after a win.

Redknapp is right Ange did take liberties with his team selection. Strange for someone desperate for a win and after what happened at Fulham last season.

The drop off from Romero/VDV to Drag/Davies is too big. We can't get any play going.

Without Kulu and Madders in the side we have no way to threaten.

We know our wingers are shit but there's nothing we can do except hope we don't see Werner again.

With Odobert out we are very thin. Moore needs to get a shot. Werner, Johnson, Son are not good enough (good finish from BJ but he was utter gash for 94 mins, it's not sustainable).

Ange is still in big trouble. Alarm bells would have been ringing for Levy tonight.
You'd think so, but I'm not sure he sees football in any kind of nuanced way. I really think those two goals will have turned his attitude from a negative one for 20 odd minutes to hey everythings great we've got our Tottenham back,,

Ultimately the teams going nowhere. There's no such thing as "maybe this could be a turning point" when we're this abject.. Serious reflection is needed.

I don’t get the solution though. You hire a manger whose system is winger attack based and don’t get the winger to fit. Every manager seems like the same story, this manager needs good CB’s and wing back so we have none, this manager needs good wingers so we have none.

We are supposed to be an elite club. Just imagine Pep coming into Spurs and asking for 6 good AM’s to make his system work and we provide him with Lo Celso and some drunk on a loan.

I half expect Southgate to be the manager at some point.

If you watched that tonight, or recently and think Ange's system is working, I don't know what to tell you. We are fucking rancid. He literally escaped the sack tonight by the skin of his teeth. it should change nothing if you are assessing Ange's suitablity for the job. I genuinely think he's one of the worst coaches we've had in decades.

If I was Levy I'd still sack him, in fact I would have done it in the summer.

We should have lost tonight by about 4 goals if Coventry had any quality. Even Championship teams can completely expose Ange's system.

And don't get me started on the disdain he showed the match with his team selection.

I'd go for Ireola or Amorim.
They finished 8th in his first 2 seasons. Wtf are you talking about.

Luckily you don't make the decisions on who tottenham employ, we'd be sacking a manger every couple of months.
