Spot on. I was trying to take a photo of the tv the illustrate it. The middle is far too congested and it makes getting the ball wide at any pace a near impossibility. Opposition makes two banks of four and it is impossible to get through. Adds to the predictable nature of the side and the fact we move the ball at a snail’s pace.
its the worst system ive seen in football i think. conte's system works with semi decent players. this system needs world beaters to stand any sort of chance at all and even then i dont think it works. not against decent sides. its so easily nullified.

hes effectively got half the defence being the key part of attack....its proper braindead.

Not really
He just got a gold plated gift right
Otherwise he was as effective as usual

Woolwich never looked this bad under Arteta at all, and defintely not a year in. People keep going on about Arteta and Woolwich like that is the blue print to follow when we have someone so out of his depth in Ange.

If you watched that tonight, or recently and think Ange's system is working, I don't know what to tell you. We are fucking rancid. He literally escaped the sack tonight by the skin of his teeth. it should change nothing if you are assessing Ange's suitablity for the job. I genuinely think he's one of the worst coaches we've had in decades.

If I was Levy I'd still sack him, in fact I would have done it in the summer.

We should have lost tonight by about 4 goals if Coventry had any quality. Even Championship teams can completely expose Ange's system.

And don't get me started on the disdain he showed the match with his team selection.

I'd go for Ireola or Amorim.
He played the second string and the kids, he gave the unfit a run out, and he made the right tactical decisions to win the game.
But you want him sacked

Epic

Or they are mad it extends this pointless ho round with a coach chronically out of his depth. There's no right way to do this.
I don't think everyone is fully onboard with Ange yet but what I would like to see is sticking with someone rather than this wishy washy sack, rehire, sack, repeat idea.

You know full well the same people moaning now would be moaning again in 6 months. It's so obvious.

I don’t get the solution though. You hire a manger whose system is winger attack based and don’t get the winger to fit. Every manager seems like the same story, this manager needs good CB’s and wing back so we have none, this manager needs good wingers so we have none.

We are supposed to be an elite club. Just imagine Pep coming into Spurs and asking for 6 good AM’s to make his system work and we provide him with Lo Celso and some drunk on a loan.

I half expect Southgate to be the manager at some point.

Say what you want about the quality of our wingers (and they're not without issue); but I just don't buy into the "Ange wants his wingers to stay wide" talk any longer....... They NEVER do it!

Either he's trying something different to Celtic and it's not working; or the players are simply ignoring him.

I was saying around game 20. It doesn't work. I'm sure all the feels types want us to ignore the bloody obvious but it's not some master stroke. It's in effect stopping our ability to progress the ball at speed. And with the lack of quality wide players means sides simply watch us recycle the ball till we fall asleep. Then they score from a dead ball or corner. Coaches in league one know how to beat this rubbish. But hey be positive because it's making the clappers sad and they will leave..ffs

I think you can invert one fullback at a time to join the attack but not both, it’s too much. It’s one of the reasons why we are always caught on the counter and have reduced numbers back there. Plus it would produce more space for the winger on the opposite side of the pitch if the ball is switched quickly.

ideally you want porro to be the one allowed to come higher as he can actually put the ball in the box and bang one, udogie should help romero and VDV, hes stronger than porro so logically going to be more useful. then you compensate the left side by having maddison over there and weight that side more with the playmakers.

its no coincidence a completely different froup of players tonight looked exactly the same as the first 11. its a system issue.

The performance is the type of shite you can get when make 8 changes and throw in a bunch of reserves and kids, away to a plucky underdog.

I think Ange is working with some absolute dog shit offensive/creative players and clearly some of the players we've brought in are not going to move the fucking needle.

I'm just not seeing where Grey is going to excel? He's not a FB, is he a 6, an 8 ? I can see he has some solid attributes, but It's really hard to see him turning into an outstanding player. Either way, I don't see a position where Grey becomes a starter anytime soon.

It took bentancur 85 minutes to get a rocket up his fucking arse, push on and press - with the help of Maddison - and win a ball. When he finally did it, it was great and set up Johnson who took his chance really well. But fuck me, where was that urgency and aggression for 85 minutes? Plod plod plod.

Even Udogie is starting to annoy me. Guy just never produces anything in forward areas. His touch and passing can get really sloppy at times and he'd never have got himself where Spence did to score that goal, or come up with the deft finish.

Some of Ange's subs (and this is a running theme) are fucking bonkers and make no sense at all, in fact they seem counter intuitive. The Son/Solanke Maddison/Bergval subs made very little sense, surely it should have been Werner and Sarr off? He then tactical corrects that sub 10 minutes later with the Kulu/Werner sub, pushing Son out left and having Kulu as the F9. Such a convoluted way of doing things.

Maddison, was the biggest difference, he started demanding the ball - where previously we had no one prepared to get on it and try to take any risk, it was him zipping a quick, vertical zipped pass that started the first goal, Kulusevski was a bit fortunate that his through ball went through legs but if he meant it then it was good but still left Spence with plenty to do, and Spence shows great determination and a deft finish. And it was Maddison pressing with Bentancur that set up Johnson, who finished really smartly.
