I think there has been a change to the tactics. It’s like he’s put the breaks on or is mitigating the risks of his initial approachEither he's trying something different to Celtic and it's not working; or the players are simply ignoring him.

Excellent summaryThe performance is the type of shite you can get when make 8 changes and throw in a bunch of reserves and kids, away to a plucky underdog.
I think Ange is working with some absolute dog shit offensive/creative players and clearly some of the players we've brought in are not going to move the fucking needle.
I'm just not seeing where Grey is going to excel? He's not a FB, is he a 6, an 8 ? I can see he has some solid attributes, but It's really hard to see him turning into an outstanding player. Either way, I don't see a position where Grey becomes a starter anytime soon.
It took bentancur 85 minutes to get a rocket up his fucking arse, push on and press - with the help of Maddison - and win a ball. When he finally did it, it was great and set up Johnson who took his chance really well. But fuck me, where was that urgency and aggression for 85 minutes? Plod plod plod.
Even Udogie is starting to annoy me. Guy just never produces anything in forward areas. His touch and passing can get really sloppy at times and he'd never have got himself where Spence did to score that goal, or come up with the deft finish.
Some of Ange's subs (and this is a running theme) are fucking bonkers and make no sense at all, in fact they seem counter intuitive. The Son/Solanke Maddison/Bergval subs made very little sense, surely it should have been Werner and Sarr off? He then tactical corrects that sub 10 minutes later with the Kulu/Werner sub, pushing Son out left and having Kulu as the F9. Such a convoluted way of doing things.
Maddison, was the biggest difference, he started demanding the ball - where previously we had no one prepared to get on it and try to take any risk, it was him zipping a quick, vertical zipped pass that started the first goal, Kulusevski was a bit fortunate that his through ball went through legs but if he meant it then it was good but still left Spence with plenty to do, and Spence shows great determination and a deft finish. And it was Maddison pressing with Bentancur that set up Johnson, who finished really smartly.
Definitely. We're still as wide open at the back as ever. Coventry had more shots on target with about 35% possessionI think there has been a change to the tactics. It’s like he’s put the breaks on or is mitigating the risks of his initial approach

I really don’t think they are verging on the majority. It’s just that it’s a limited number of people posting the same comments endlessly. It is tedious in the extreme. It hasn’t helped that results have not gone our way since the new season started, despite the fact that we have generally played well. Tonight was the opposite. We were awful but got a great result. Not really sure, it’s kind of sad as this is the only space I really have to communicate with fellow Spurs fans and it has turned into such a horrible, negative cesspit of a place.
Flav should probably just shut it down. Several posters on here seem genuinely gutted that we won that match. There used to be a minority of moaning shit posters on here but they seem to be verging on a majority now.

Were you the one posting we’d lose and then replied to your own post after we went down 1-0 to try to give yourself credit for your brilliance?
How’d that all turn out?
Could be the Fergie type turnaround we need? And Mark Robin involved again? The performance is the type of shite you can get when make 8 changes and throw in a bunch of reserves and kids, away to a plucky underdog.

As little as I know about football, only having started watching when I retired here in the US, I've always been struck by how you can sense when a team is about to score. Once someone beats their man 1 v 1 and a defender comes to help you've disarranged the back line and things open up. I understand what Postecoglou is trying to achieve, but what I haven't seen yet is Spurs attack in the final third get teams on the back foot. I don't think he will give up his system, but obviously there is still work to do because the attack isn't moving the opposition's players out of position.I was saying around game 20. It doesn't work. I'm sure all the feels types want us to ignore the bloody obvious but it's not some master stroke. It's in effect stopping our ability to progress the ball at speed. And with the lack of quality wide players means sides simply watch us recycle the ball till we fall asleep. Then they score from a dead ball or corner. Coaches in league one know how to beat this rubbish. But hey be positive because it's making the clappers sad and they will leave..ffs

The made up rules seem to be that if a player gets the shot off, it’s never a foul.Seem him do similar a bunch of times.......... 1st sub(s) leaves us shapeless and confused; 2nd sub(s) puts us back into OG shape.
It's quite a Southgate thing to do.
I kind wonder if Spence hadn't finished whether we'd have got a pen....... Defender just went straight through the back of him.
He has to do something with his “system”.As little as I know about football, only having started watching when I retired here in the US, I've always been struck by how you can sense when a team is about to score. £40m for Gray does have me scratching my head. Can't quite see what we've signed here for that money. The performance is the type of shite you can get when make 8 changes and throw in a bunch of reserves and kids, away to a plucky underdog.

I agree with you about counter attacking. When it is done well it is one of the most exciting aspects of the game. We've got Son, who is really great at stretching the pitch, but this system takes away a big positive part of his game. And Johnson, for his faults, has so much pace we don't see often enough. He has to do something with his “system”.
Teams and their managers know that if they keep their shape and allow us possession we invariably do very little with it. It’s tedious watching side to side, backwards & trying to walk it into the net when we get into the final third of the pitch. We look laborious most of the time and the tippy tappy football slows it all down, giving the oppo too much time to set up against it. Play it quickly and don’t be afraid to take the chance on.
I’m a big fan of counter attacking football done properly.
But we’re playing high press/high line and it simply has to be done better because teams will continue to counter attack in the knowledge that we will cough up at least one gilt edged chance
Not saying he was bad but I don't think he stood out and generally in his Spurs appearances to date I see a nice, tidy, safe player with a good engine but not this supposed generational talent some people are mentioning.
