Really is a lovely goal.
Maddison and Kulusevski brilliant.
Corrected it for you.Yep, that was me. So I got that wrongby a factor of three and a half minutes...
There's a first time for everything.Lets hope it's not the lastDoes Brennan Johnson ever do anything worthwhile ? I mean ever.
Just like the result though , it's just pampering over the cracks. Need more from Johnson and the team. Only positive I can find is he isn't / wasn't the worst. That's got to be bestowed on Werner. Why on earth did we take up another loan option ?Does Brennan Johnson ever do anything worthwhile ? I mean ever.
Harsh...Does Brennan Johnson ever do anything worthwhile ? I mean ever.
Assuming you're being sarcastic, yes, it's an abomination...
Even though we did score....they will definitely forget what they have learntIf we can learn how to score a goal in the next two days, we might have a chance
Kind of hard for the two youngsters to show anything if they don't get let on the pitch. It took a bit of time for even Pep and his oil based club to build up their group of forwards.
But we are starting from Son, Solanke, Richarlison, Werner, Johnson and Odobert as our group of forwards.
Werner's loan lands next summer (if we don't try to offload him in January), an ageing Son, an out of form/often injured Richarlison, who reputedly refused to move on in summer, a new boy Solanke who I think will be ok but like many new boys might take much of this season. Johnson who will probably do fine if he plays with a striker like Solanke (he wasn't last season) and Odobert who has a season of PL football behind him, but might take a few months to adjust to Spurs and is that 1 v1 winger many on TFC wanted.
Realistically we will do well to upgrade on 2 of Werner, Richarlison and Son next summer - players of the quality we need are not that common so getting even 2 of them in will not be easy. So our forwards next season will almost certainly include Solanke, Johnson and Odobert ..... simply both because it takes time to bring in multiple forwards, but we also need to give them time to show what they can do and two of them still in their first season and the other his second season which is not too long to show what they can do.
The question is going to be whether 19 year old Lankshear and 17 year old Moore show enough this season to make a real difference next season - a tough ask, but both will count as List B u21's so won't take up a squad place. Maybe a wild card but anything is possible, and both excellent prospects
So its going to take a bit of time to upgrade ........ regardless of who is manager !
What???The made up rules seem to be that if a player gets the shot off, it’s never a foul.
I mean Jan panced a guy one time.
Let’s see if we can kick on!We've won but tonight is the turning point with Ange for me..
we were awful
possession means nothing.
Our squad is so built for 3-5-2 with wing backs. Would utilise dragusins height, play to strengths of Porro, Udogie and Spence. You could probably convert Odobert to wing back too. Wing backs to get balls into box so Solanke might actually get service. Plenty of decent midfield options for the 3 in the middle although we’re probably shy of a proper CDM like Gomes. Play Son off Solanke as he can’t seem to play on his own up top or on the wing anymore. Kulu could be either a CAM or 2nd striker. In fact you could have different options for the 2 up top. Son for speed, Kulu for guile, Richi or Lankshear for aerial presence (all assuming to play with Solanke.
How long have you followed Spurs? Ugly performances away against lower teams is very much the "normal" for us in the cups. We made 8 changes from the NLD, and it was not in any way realistic that we would improve from a rather dull display against Woolwich. Getting our better players on the pitch, changed the game, and even though we rode our luck, we won. We've won but tonight is the turning point with Ange for me..
