Does Brennan Johnson ever do anything worthwhile ? I mean ever.
Harsh...
It seems his maun function is to divert attention from JUST HOW BAD Werner is!

But took his goal well, C'mon!

Anyone saying that kit was bad doesn’t know ball.
Assuming you're being sarcastic, yes, it's an abomination...

...but if you genuinely liked it, then I say this to you;
A GREEN kit, on a GREEN football pitch is pretty useless and defeats the point of using colour...

Secondly, against a team wearing Sky Blue, it's almost impossible to instantly see the difference...

No wonder we were misplacing passes, I'm surprised they could pick out their own team mates!

It took a bit of time for even Pep and his oil based club to build up their group of forwards.

But we are starting from Son, Solanke, Richarlison, Werner, Johnson and Odobert as our group of forwards.

Werner's loan lands next summer (if we don't try to offload him in January), an ageing Son, an out of form/often injured Richarlison, who reputedly refused to move on in summer, a new boy Solanke who I think will be ok but like many new boys might take much of this season. Johnson who will probably do fine if he plays with a striker like Solanke (he wasn't last season) and Odobert who has a season of PL football behind him, but might take a few months to adjust to Spurs and is that 1 v1 winger many on TFC wanted.

Realistically we will do well to upgrade on 2 of Werner, Richarlison and Son next summer - players of the quality we need are not that common so getting even 2 of them in will not be easy. So our forwards next season will almost certainly include Solanke, Johnson and Odobert ..... simply both because it takes time to bring in multiple forwards, but we also need to give them time to show what they can do and two of them still in their first season and the other his second season which is not too long to show what they can do.

The question is going to be whether 19 year old Lankshear and 17 year old Moore show enough this season to make a real difference next season - a tough ask, but both will count as List B u21's so won't take up a squad place. Maybe a wild card but anything is possible, and both excellent prospects

So its going to take a bit of time to upgrade ........ regardless of who is manager !
Kind of hard for the two youngsters to show anything if they don't get let on the pitch.
BJ was awful last night and did one thing right, but it was a chance your granny could have put away.

I can't see how people believe there is some rebuild taking place it Boggels my mind.

We bought Random Youngsters that don't have Good mentors. How do we expect them to improve. By the time the youngsters are close to being ready, Romero, Dragusin and VDV will be leaving cause they looking to win titles. And the cycle starts again.

This is purely a Levy minting machine plan. No interest in football. Rebuild, of the rebuild, because the rebuild of the previous rebuild did rebuild the Team. If you want to see a rebuild look at Villa. They have done wonders compared to the last 20 years of Spurs.

We've won but tonight is the turning point with Ange for me..

we were awful

possession means nothing.
Let’s see if we can kick on!
Firstly Great to win and get through.
However how many times have we expected the next game to be improved and we come out firing?
We lost NLD so you think the team would come out all guns blazing and go for v a much changed champo team. But no we come out and plod along expecting something to happen. Villa away we win 0-4 next game we have stinker v Fulham. So many games under Ange we expect some reaction in next game but there is nothing.
Also to all the angeball die hard we didn’t score our goals from any real passing move. All came from playing quick vertical balls and a great flick by MADDs. This is the problem with his football it’s hit and miss. Relies on someone doing something. We can’t actually carve open teams with passing patterns. If the flicks and so on don’t come off we struggle.

Just drop the wingers and play with 3 at the back.
Our squad is so built for 3-5-2 with wing backs. Would utilise dragusins height, play to strengths of Porro, Udogie and Spence. You could probably convert Odobert to wing back too. Wing backs to get balls into box so Solanke might actually get service. Plenty of decent midfield options for the 3 in the middle although we’re probably shy of a proper CDM like Gomes. Play Son off Solanke as he can’t seem to play on his own up top or on the wing anymore. Kulu could be either a CAM or 2nd striker. In fact you could have different options for the 2 up top. Son for speed, Kulu for guile, Richi or Lankshear for aerial presence (all assuming to play with Solanke.

How long have you followed Spurs? Ugly performances away against lower teams is very much the "normal" for us in the cups. We made 8 changes from the NLD, and it was not in any way realistic that we would improve from a rather dull display against Woolwich. Getting our better players on the pitch, changed the game, and even though we rode our luck, we won.

I can get that some people have lost faith in Ange, but to have THIS game as a "turning point" is beyond strange..
